ST. Cheap Basketball Shoes . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Chris Archer stayed at the top of his game long enough for the Tampa Bay Rays to bounce back from one of their worst losses of the season. Archer pitched seven strong innings, David DeJesus scored twice and the Rays beat the Angels 4-1 Wednesday night, ending Los Angeles four-game winning streak. The rookie right-hander was given the assignment of breaking the Rays three-game losing skid one night after they had squandered a four-run lead and fell 6-5, dropping 2 1/2 games behind the first-place Boston Red Sox in the AL East. "Honestly, the pressures always the same whether weve won three in a row or lost three in a row," Archer said. "Im still trying to go out there and execute pitches regardless of previous games." Archer (8-5) allowed one run and five hits while striking out five. For the fifth time in his last 10 starts, he did not walk a batter. "Hes got such a strong mental game," Rays manager Joe Maddon noted. "This guy really understands routine and process. I saw a close-up on TV where he was almost talking himself, and I know he was telling himself the right things regarding how to slow down and how to focus ... Thats been the impressive part. I mean zero walks -- come on!" In his five starts without a walk, Archer is 4-0 with an 0.47 earned run average. He has emerged in the late summer as the Rays steadiest starter. "I think Im feeling the same thing everybody feels at this time of the season," he said. "Im in good shape, my stuffs still crisp, my velocity is still there, Im executing pitches. I think its a mental hurdle rather than physical now for everybody," he said. Archer breezed through the first six innings, scattering three singles and facing 20 batters, only two over the minimum. "Hes got good stuff. Hes got a nice, easy delivery," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "His fastball is really live, and a terrific slider. He pitched a strong game for those guys." Fernando Rodney pitched the ninth, striking out two for his 31st save. Garrett Richards (4-6) gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks in 3 1-3 innings, the second-shortest of his career. "I just didnt have it from the beginning," Richards said. "Arm felt good. Body felt good. I just wasnt there tonight." DeJesus, playing his fifth game since the Rays got him in a trade with Washington, had two of the Rays eight hits and drove in his first run. Ben Zobrist also had two hits and an RBI. DeJesus led off the Tampa Bay first with a double and scored on Matt Joyces sacrifice fly. In the fourth, DeJesus hit an RBI single off Richards leg. The Rays scored three times in the decisive inning, and an error on shortstop Erick Aybar put the Rays up 4-0. "We got one of those snowball innings that we need to have more of," said DeJesus, who is 6 for 11 in three games as a leadoff hitter with Tampa Bay. "We gave away that game yesterday. Its great to bounce back and get Rodney back in there, get him a nice save and have a clean game." Mike Trout and Josh Hamilton opened the Angels seventh with singles. Kole Calhoun hit a sacrifice fly. Trout had his 51st multihit game of the season and raised his batting average against right-handed pitchers to .332. He is hitting .333 against lefties. Hamiltons single in the seventh extended his road hitting streak to a career-high 15 games. NOTES: Angels 3B Chris Nelson left the game in the seventh inning with a strained right hamstring. The Angels said he will go on the disabled list Thursday. ... The Rays optioned LHP Jeff Beliveau to Double-A Montgomery after the game. ... RHP Jake Odorizzi, called up from Triple-A Durham late Tuesday, will pitch Thursdays series finale for the Rays. It will be Odorizzis fourth start of the season and first since June 18. . . . Maddon said there is "a strong possibility" the Rays will call up Delmon Young on Sept. 1. The veteran outfielder was signed to a minor league contract on Aug. 22. Cheap Basketball Shoes Discount . He never mentioned anything about his hitting. The 33-year-old right-hander had success with both Sunday, pitching six solid innings and helping the offence-starved Mets with an RBI single as New York salvaged a doubleheader split with a 4-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. CHICAGO -- Joakim Noah and Jimmy Butler understand it. The real victory for the Chicago Bulls will come when theyre knocking the Miami Heat out of the playoffs, not during the regular season -- no matter how charged the atmosphere is. Even so, theyll take this. Noah had 20 points and 12 rebounds, D.J. Augustin scored 22 and the Chicago Bulls beat the Miami Heat 95-88 in overtime Sunday after Butler blocked LeBron James at the end of regulation. "I want what they have -- a championship," Noah said. "One day, were going to have to get through those guys." The Heat have owned them when it counts in recent seasons. With a healthy Derrick Rose and the No. 1 seed in 2011, Chicago fell to Miami in the Eastern Conference finals. Last year, with Rose out, the Heat knocked off the Bulls in the second round on the way to their second straight championship. "Its still a good win," Butler said. "It gives us confidence we can beat them. But ... in the playoffs, like Thibs said, we cant go around them; youre going to have to go through them." Dwyane Wade scored 25 for Miami, but with James struggling again, the Heat dropped their third straight to match their longest losing streak of the season. James scored 17 points on 8-of-23 shooting and couldnt come through after Miami blew a 12-point lead down the stretch. With a chance to win it at the end of regulation, he got stripped by Butler on a layup attempt. In overtime, it was all Bulls. Chicago outscored Miami 9-2, starting with Augustins 3 just under a minute in. Butler added a jumper from the wing, Noah scored on a putback and Butler hit two free throws to make it 95-86 with 1:33 left before James made a layup. Noah also had seven assists and five blocks with his dad -- tennis great Yannick Noah -- looking on. Butler added 16 points and 11 rebounds while containing James. Wade tried to carry the load for Miami, particularly in the early going. Chris Bosh scored 15, but James had another rough afternoon. The four-time MVP is 23 for 59 in the three games since his career-high and franchise-record 61-point effort against Charlotte last week. Cheap Basketball Shoes Sale. James also went without a mask from the start to protect his broken nose, after ditching it during the previous game. He said it was simply uncomfortable, so he decided to play without it even though he was not cleared to do so. The Bulls got back into it after the Heat led by 12 late in the third quarter. Augustins 3-pointer and Butlers steal and two free throws put Chicago ahead 75-74 midway through the fourth. It was 82-82 with just over two minutes left when Noah blocked a layup by James. Taj Gibson raced the other way for a thunderous dunk while getting fouled by Mario Chalmers, drawing a roar from the crowd. James tied it again on a layup with 1:10 left. Wade then stole the ball from Butler and hit two free throws after getting fouled inside by Noah to give Miami an 86-84 lead with 29.2 seconds remaining. But Kirk Hinrich quickly scooped in a runner to knot it at 86 with 20.1 seconds left. After a timeout, James took the inbounds pass and got stripped driving for a layup along the right side by Butler to send this one to overtime. "I dropped the ball. Its like a double entendre," James said. "I actually dropped the ball, but I dropped the ball on my team. I had it. Thats a great play. I give a lot of credit to Jimmy. He got his hand on the ball, but I had the lane. I had the layup." NOTES: Things got a bit heated between James and Butler late in the first half. They got tangled going for a loose ball near the Heat basket after James tried to corral a long pass. As they hit the court, Butlers foot hit James nose, and James appeared to push him. Both players got technicals. "Two competitors were down there," Butler said. "Whatever happened, happened. But I dont back down." James brushed it off, saying, "Just two competitors going at it, one trying not to give an edge." ... The Bulls and Heat split the season series at 2-2.
