Jesse Joseph, a 2013 Montreal Alouettes draft pick from UConn, has been invited to the Chicago Bears rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. Will Fuller V Jersey . Joseph wasnt given a contract by the Bears but could earn one with a solid showing at the minicamp. Joseph was taken in the third round, 23rd overall, in last years CFL Draft. Greg Mancz Jersey .C. Now hes squarely in the U.S. capital and helping the Washington Wizards playoff drive. John Wall scored 33 points, Gooden got 11 of his 21 in the final quarter and the Wizards overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit for a 101-94 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night. Jay Prosch Jersey . The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no announcement was made. By releasing Bailey, the Broncos would open up cap space with the 12-time Pro Bowl player scheduled to make around $10 million next season.BETHESDA, Md. -- Patrick Reed is not interested in talking about being top five in the world. He only cares about PGA Tour victory No. 4. Reed, who turned off some of his peers when he won at Doral and said he was among the top five players in the world, held it together Saturday at steamy Congressional for an even-par 71 to build a two-shot lead in the Quicken Loans National. As if Congressional wasnt difficult, the rest of the field now has to chase a guy who has won all three previous PGA Tour events when he had at least a share of the lead going into the final round. On a day when making pars often meant moving forward, Reed overcame three bogeys in a seven-hole stretch by playing the last five holes at 1 under for a two-shot margin over Seung-yul Noh, Freddie Jacobson and Marc Leishman. "You cant get ahead of yourself," Reed said. "If you think about having the lead or if you think about what youre going to do coming down 18, youre going to lose focus on the rest of the holes." Reed was at 6-under 207. The final round will have a player in the last group with a red shirt, only it wont be tournament host Tiger Woods, who missed the cut. Reed has been wearing a red shirt and black pants on Sunday to pattern himself after Woods. He also cited Woods when asked which player was his idol in being confident. Reed took that to a new level when he won at Doral and said he felt he was among the top five in the world. He currently is No. 29. "You cant play this game with lack of confidence," Reed said. "So just one of those things that, you know, were all trying to strive for the same thing, and some guys get there and thats all were trying to do." Dating to his first PGA Tour win at the Wyndham Championship last August, the only top 10s Reed has had have been victories. He attributes his sporadic play to his wife having their first child last month. Now, Reed says his life is becoming settled and his game is rounding into shape. Noh finished off his 5-under 66 -- the best score of the third round -- about the time the leaders went off. He was at 4-under 209, which looked better by the hour. Jacobson made four birdies in his opening eight holes to reach 8 under, only to take double bogey on the 11th hole and a sloppy bogey on the par-5 16th hole. He wound up with a 71. Leishman was still only one shot behind until he failed to get up-and-down for par on the 17th and fell to a 73. Ka imi Fairbairn Jersey. "At the start of the day, we probably knew that anything under par was going to be a really good score," Leishman said. "I actually said to my caddie, It feels a bit like a U.S. Open because there were a few pins that you really didnt have a chance to get at. But I think thats good. Its a tough golf course. Its long. If youre not in the fairway, you have no chance." Reed was not in the fairway on two holes where he made birdie, and he managed to pull it off. In deep rough to the right of the fourth fairway, he was 169 yards away and decided to smash a 9-iron to clear the bunker instead of trying a soft 8-iron. It worked out perfectly. The ball bounded past the hole and up a slope, and slowly rolled back to within inches of the cup. "I thought there was about a 3 per cent chance I could cover that bunker, and I ended up being perfect," Reed said. "It was nice whenever I saw it roll up the hill and I saw it come back down because I thought, All right, we have about 5, 7 feet for birdie. Didnt know it was a couple inches, which was nice." Oliver Goss of Australia, the U.S. Amateur runner-up last year making his second pro start, was part of a four-way tie for the lead going into the third round. He was still in the mix until a three-putt from 10 feet for double bogey on No. 11. He had a 76, though he was still only five shots behind. Justin Rose was within two shots of the lead after a hot start, only to make bogey on the par-5 ninth and a double bogey on the 11th hole. He battled back with a pair of late birdies, only to drop another shot on the 18th for a 71. Even so, he was only three shots behind. This could be a perfect fit for a U.S. Open champion. None of the last 26 players who teed off broke 70. Rose took note of the rapidly changing colour of the greens, and his only fear was officials watering the greens overnight, which would make it easier for the early starters. "Id be a fan of them letting them go a little bit and making this a tough tournament and sort of having another U.S. Open," Rose said. "That would be my wish right now. But obviously, the course is firm. Wedges were releasing 10 yards by the end of the day. Its definitely a test. It was fun. I enjoy that type of golf." Subject :Every night of the Stanley Cup playoffs, TSN hockey analyst and former NHL goaltender Jamie McLennan

Every night of the Stanley Cup playoffs, TSN hockey analyst and former NHL goaltender Jamie McLennan breaks down each goalies performance. Rob Havenstein Jersey . Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers (4) - Lundqvist was solid all night, he made big saves on Gibbons and Crosby early on before stopping Malkin and Kunitz in the second period to stay ahead by two goals. He fought hard on rebounds and adjusted well in the crease throughout the game. He also had Letangs number all night as he made three great saves on him, including a big glove save in the third. Overall, he delivered a solid game in the face of elimination. Marc-Andre Fleury, Pittsburgh Penguins (2) – It was not his night. I thought he would have been pulled after two periods, but Bylsma stuck with him and let him fight through it. He was beat on rebounds tonight, the first two goals were both rebound plays and he was late to seal post on the first goal. Brassards goals were not his fault as he made a good saves initially, but received no help off the rebounds. He looked to be fighting the puck in tight as he gave up uncharacteristic rebounds around the net all night.   Ilya Bryzgalov, Minnesota Wild (4) - Bryzgalov was very solid tonight. He was his usual first-save-goaltender self while staying calm and composed. He allowed a bad goal to Sharp off a tough angle after he played it awkwardly and was not square on the play. He had no chance on the Handzus goal that was tipped. He made a huge save on Sharp on a breakaway with the score 3-2 to keep Minnesota ahead. He saved his best work of the night for his save on Morin in the third period; a reaction left pad save that was a one-timer labeled for a goal. Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks (2) – Crawford was not sharp at all tonight, the goal he gave up to Fontaine was short-side shelf and stoppable if he wasnt down early on the play. Pominvilles goal from behind the net off a bank is a play that he loses track of the puck on, leading to the goal. He came up with good saves on Parise, Granlund and Haula to keep it close at 2-1 Wild, but the Neidereiter goal was a backbreaker; at 2-2, they had just crawled back into the game and that weak goal glove-side broke Chicagos momentum. Tyler Higbee Jersey . The San Antonio Spurs handled the conditions, and the team, and it sure helped when a suffering LeBron James couldnt make it to the finish. Tavon Austin Jersey . Tokarski, a somewhat controversial choice -- with his 10 games of NHL experience and all -- to replace an injured Carey Price in Game Two had a night to remember, turning back a Rangers team that was dominating play from the get-go, outshooting the Canadiens 14-4 in the first period and 37-25 overall.ORLANDO, Fla. -- County commissioners on Tuesday approved $20 million in tourism taxes to be used toward the funding of an $84 million downtown Orlando Major League Soccer stadium, clearing the last hurdle for the city to be the home of the leagues next expansion franchise. MLS president Mark Abbott said in a statement after the vote that the league looks forward to working with the Orlando ownership group to finalize the agreement to bring a franchise to the central Florida city. The commissions vote was 5-2 Tuesday night. It came after a six-hour meeting that included comments from more than 100 members of the community speaking mostly in support. Earlier this month, city officials voted unanimously on the same funding plan to help the minor league USL Pro League Orlando City Soccer Club build the 18,000-seat, soccer-specific stadium. The team will contribute the rest of the funding for construction. Following the vote, dozens of purple-clad Orlando City fans in the standing-room only commission chamber erupted in applause and began chanting "We are going MLS! We are going MLS!" Orlando City has been lobbying to become a MLS expansion team for more than three years, but currently plays in the outdated Florida Citrus Bowl. Now that the city and county have approved, Orlando City Soccer owner Phil Rawlins said that an official agreement with MLS coould be completed within weeks. Kayvon Webster Jersey. . Once thats in place, construction would be next with an opening date of 2015 planned. When Rawlins brought the minor team to Orlando in 2010, he predicted it could move up to the MLS within five years. He said his prognostication was less about wishful thinking and more about belief in Orlando as a market. "I felt very strongly at the time that was achievable," Rawlins said. "I think Orlando is a great marketplace for MLS. Its proven that with the support it has in the minor leagues. I know the city is very anxious for a second major sports team and MLS is excited about expansion in the southeast...So I felt confident we could make that happen in that time frame." Among those joining fans and business owners to speak on behalf of MLS coming to Orlando were Orlando Magic co-founders Pat Williams and Jimmy Hewitt. Williams lauded the foresight city officials had when they first brought the idea of NBA expansion to Orlando 25 years ago. "Once again this community is faced with that vision thing once again," Williams told commissioners. Rawlins said once the final paperwork is complete with the league, they hope to make an announcement in about a month. "I think anytime youre building toward a vision and achieving your dreams its always exciting," Rawlins said. After falling to a more experienced Brooklyn Nets team in the opening game of their first round series, the Raptors have had two days to prepare for Tuesdays crucial rematch. Nolan Carroll Jersey . With one playoff contest under their belt theyll look to bounce back and even the series before it shifts to Brooklyns Barclays Center, where the Nets own the leagues best home record in 2014. Another loss and a two-game hole going out on the road could be the beginning of the end for Torontos season. TSN 1050s Josh Lewenberg and Duane Watson debate the importance of Game 2 in this weeks playoff edition of the Raptors Report podcast. Is it a must-win? How will DeMar DeRozan fair after experiencing a case of the playoff jitters in his postseason debut Saturday and will the Raptors get more from Terrence Ross and Amir Johnson, who also struggled. Custom Dallas Cowboys Jerseys . Mike Ribeiro had a goal and an assist as Phoenix held on to snap a two-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Friday. ARLINGTON, Texas -- Nelson Cruz took a slow trot around the bases after hitting a towering three-run homer in his return to Texas. The Baltimore Orioles slugger wasnt really savoring the moment. He was cramping so bad that he almost didnt even take that final at-bat in the eighth inning. Cruz hit the first pitch thrown by Shawn Tolleson, the fourth Rangers reliever, an estimated 404 feet deep into the left field seats to cap a tiebreaking six-run outburst as the Orioles won 8-3 on Tuesday night. "We were debating, he and I were," manager Buck Showalter said. "He go about halfway down the first, and that was a cramp trot." Likening his first game against the Rangers to one of his first days in the big leagues, when everything went so fast, Cruz said he just tried to stay in the moment and stay focused. "Kind of weird. Going from the other side of the plate is totally different than coming around like I used to," Cruz said. "It was overall a good day." Cruz was the 2011 AL championship series MVP on the way to the Rangers second consecutive World Series. When introduced before drawing a walk in the first, Texas fans responded with an extended ovation. While there were some boos, those seemed to be outnumbered by fans who called "Cruuuuuzz!" like they used to do when the left fielder was on their side the previous eight seasons. Heading into free agency last year, Cruz missed the final 50 regular-season games for the Rangers for violating baseballs drug agreement. Cruz turned down a $14.1 million qualifying offer in November from the Rangers, who likely would have used him primarily as a designated hitter if he had accepted. He went through the entire off-season before signing an $8 million, one-year deal with the Orioles early in spring training. "I havent seen him in a while and I got to see him and talk to him, playing around a little bit. It was a great feeling. I didnt like anytime he poopped one," Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus said. Travis Frederick Jersey. "Ive seen too many when he was on this side, but hes a talented guy. Whenever hes on, he can carry a team." Through 55 games with the Orioles, Cruz is hitting .313 and leads the majors with 21 homers and 55 RBIs. Adam Jones matched a career high with four hits, including a homer off the right-field pole leading off the Baltimore fourth. Rookie catcher Caleb Johnson had a tiebreaking RBI double in the eighth. Brian Matusz (2-1) went 1 2-3 innings in relief of Ubaldo Jimenez, who held Texas to one run and four hits while striking out five over 5 2-3 innings. Alexi Ogando (2-3), the second Texas reliever, got a popup to start the eighth before allowing three straight Orioles to reach. He was gone after the double by Joseph, whose two hits matched his total in his first 11 games. The Rangers, coming off a 7-4 record in their longest road trip this season, got two inning-starting homers: Adrian Beltre in the fourth, and Robinson Chrinos in the seventh. Joe Saunders, the winning pitcher for Baltimore in the 2012 AL wild card game at Texas, allowed two runs and 10 hits over six-plus innings in his first home start for the Rangers. The left-hander was signed during spring training and he made the season-opening rotation before missing more than seven weeks with a stress fracture in his left ankle after being struck by a liner in his first start. Notes: Three-time AL All-Star first baseman Jim Gentile, who played in the majors from 1957-66, attended the game on his 80th birthday. With Baltimore in 1961, he finished third in the AL MVP voting behind Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle. ... Orioles closer Tommy Hunter, on the DL since May 22 with a left groin strain, was encouraged with how he felt after a bullpen session before the game. He will do some fielding drills Wednesday, and could go out on a rehab assignment as early as Thursday. Subject :Eddie Jones says England need to add more consistency to their game if they are to become the worlds

Eddie Jones says England need to add more consistency to their game if they are to become the worlds best Test-playing nation. J.T. Thomas Jersey . England completed a historic whitewash of Australia in June, securing a 3-0 series win with a victory in Sydney in the final Test. The national side are second in the global rankings and have won nine straight matches under Jones following their poor World Cup campaign, in which they were eliminated at the pool stage. Ben Youngs, Jamie George and Maro Itoje gave their reaction to Englands historic whitewash over Australia But despite making huge improvements, Jones feels England will not be able to consider themselves the best team in world rugby until they improve their consistency. While we had periods in the Test series, we werent consistent enough and thats something we need to develop if were going to be the number one side in the world, he told Sky Sports News HQ. Theres a fair bit of work to go into that. A look back at how England made history by claiming a series sweep against the Wallabies Discipline was excellent, and I was pleased with our mind set, our toughness when it came to absorbing pressure. One of the interesting stats was that they made more line breaks than we did but our line breaks resulted into more points and so we were able to convert pressure into points - thats what top Test rugby is all about. Spirits were high as celebrations continued in the England dressing room after their historical win over Australia We won the last 20 minutes of all three Tests and thats extraordinary and shows their mental toughness. But while Jones accepts there is some work to do for England to overhaul world champions New Zealand, he was satisfied enough by his sides mental toughness under pressure to draw a comparison between them and the all-conquering All Blacks. England forward Chris Robshaw says despite beating Australia 3-0 in the recent test series, they can still get better in many areas Physicality is always a big part of it but it has to come with a mental toughness too, and what is mental toughness? Its being able to perform under pressure and were developing that, he said. Its when the heat is on and the pressure is on - youve got to make those right decisions and thats what New Zealand did in their series against Wales. Also See: England can learn from rugby Callard to depart RFU role Farrell: England have work to do Hartley: We have made history Weston Richburg Jersey . The Mets made the announcement Sunday night. Parnell blew a save on opening day against Washington and the next day it was revealed he had partially torn right elbow ligament. Lawrence Taylor Jersey . David Perron had a career high four-point night with two goals and two assists as the Oilers experienced an offensive explosion, blasting the Columbus Blue Jackets 7-0 to record a rare home win for their second victory in a row.DUNEDIN, Florida - Blue Jays players assembled Monday afternoon for their annual spring meeting with the Players Association, the first gathering chaired by new executive director Tony Clark. Just as the meeting was beginning, Major League Baseball unveiled Rule 7.13, an experimental rule for the 2014 season aimed at eliminating what the league calls “egregious” runner/catcher collisions at home plate. See a full explanation of the rule here: http://tinyurl.com/l4zaqo5 Here is a link to a play at the plate last season, involving Phillies base runner Chase Utley and former Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro, now with the Blue Jays. Watch the clip, keeping in mind the new rule didnt exist, and guess based on the new rule whether Utley would be safe or out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0Qe310Bn4g Assembled media, waiting for Clark to emerge from his seminar with the Jays, couldnt agree on the call. Some saw fault with Utley for initiating contact with Navarro. Others believed Utley would be called safe because Navarro blocked the pathway of the runner to the plate prior to receiving the baseball. If you think Utley is safe, based on the new rule, Clark agrees with you. “My guess is, according to the rule, (Navarro) cant be sitting on the plate without the ball,” said Clark. “Its one thing to catch it and then move and block the baseline. Its another thing to block the baseline and not having the ball.” Blue Jays catchers hadnt seen the new rule as of Mondays availability and had plenty of questions, including the wisdom of asking an umpire to make a split-second determination about more than whether a runner is safe or out. “I think its tough to make that out/safe call at home and theyre always trying to get good positioning,” said Erik Kratz. “Now, is their positioning going to have to change? Are they going to have to talk about that? Are they going to have to look at the runner as hes running, ‘I saw the runners eyes, he was looking at the catcher. You did? What about the ball? What about the catchers eyes? Did he have his fist clenched?” “Im going to do you one better,” said Clark. “During a play on the field you may also have a rotation component here where youve got the home plate umpire running to third and the first base umpire running to home. Its a tough enough play as it is as hes running to try and call a close play but now youre also talking about trying to determine intent and where guys are positioned. Its difficult.” Many other nuances were discussed, which is why, according to Clark, the rule has been made public and is being explained to players only two days before Grapefruit League play is scheduled to begin. A Major League Baseball representative and an umpire will be visiting all 30 teams during spring training to further explain the rule. Manager John Gibbons has met with MLB Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations Joe Torre and his right-hand man, Tony La Russa. The intent of the rule is to make close plays at the plate safer for both the catcher and the runner. A catcher in his playing days, Gibbons is skeptical. “I dont know about that,” said Gibbons. “I think when you start trying to mess with the game too much, I mean, youre going to run into problems. Its a big part of the game. The game on the line, thats the winning run or something, guys are trying to stop that run. Instinct tells them to do one thing. But if thats the rule then we live with that. Nothing we can do about that.” Clark of Free Agency Ervin Santana and Stephen Drew are two high-profile free agents whove yet to find work, in large part because there is draft pick compensation tied to their next contracts. Jonathan Casillas Jersey. “As a union its our responsibility to make sure that player rights are defended, protected and advanced,” said Clark. When asked over the course of the winter about the Blue Jays interest in select free agents, general manager Alex Anthopoulos repeatedly opined that market prices were too high and that the club was willing to wait for player demands to come down. Clark, speaking in general terms, not specifically about Anthopoulos or the Blue Jays, says the union will review the offseasons free agency activity. “If the free agent market as a whole is being manipulated on some level and we have an opportunity to reflect on this offseason, comments that were made, where those comments came from and how they may have affected the free agent market then it is a conversation were going to have going forward to make sure the integrity of the Collective Bargaining Agreement is upheld and that we dont find ourselves in a place where certain information is lending itself to certain understandings and appreciations publicly with respect to free agents,” said Clark. Clark on A-Rod Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez wont play in 2014, suspended for his role in the Biogenesis performance enhancing drug scandal. Rodriguez has since dropped a lawsuit which named, among others, the Major League Baseball Players Association. Clark says if A-Rod is playing in 2015, hell be welcomed back into the union he briefly considered taking to court. “Over the course of 140 years there have been, I believe, a little less than 20-thousand players who have ever worn a major league uniform for one day,” said Clark. “If you have worn a major league uniform for one day then you are part of that fraternity. There are guys that make decisions that guys dont appreciate, that guys dont like, but after Alex serves his suspension he will come back as a member of that fraternity and we expect to see him in 2015.” Clark on an openly gay player Jason Collins is back in the NBA, making history on Sunday night as the first openly gay athlete in the leagues history. Michael Sam appears poised to become the first openly gay player in the NFL. Is baseball ready for such a scenario? “I dont see it being an issue,” said Clark. “Our locker rooms are more diverse than most and as youve heard with a lot of the leagues, whether its the NFL or any other place, inevitably its going to come down to can you help us win ballgames?” Pitching Schedule Manager John Gibbons has drawn up his pitching schedule for the first five Grapefruit League games. Here it is: Wednesday at Phillies: J.A. Happ (2 innings,) Todd Redmond (2,) Kyle Drabek (1-2,) Chad Jenkins (1,) Neil Wagner (1,) Mickey Storey (1.) Thursday vs. Phillies: R.A. Dickey (2,) Esmil Rogers (1,) Dustin McGowan (1,) Brett Cecil (1,) Aaron Loup (1,) Jeremy Jeffress (1,) Rob Rasmussen (1,) Marcus Walden (1.) Friday vs. Pirates: Mark Buehrle (1-2,) Brandon Morrow (1-2,) Steve Delabar (1,) Sergio Santos (1,) Liam Hendriks (1,) Sean Nolin (1,) Aaron Sanchez (1,) Juan Perez (1.) SEATTLE -- Clint Dempsey didnt have much to say about the two-game suspension he received from Major League Soccer. Ja Wuan James Jersey . Fourteen words to be exact. "Disappointed. I dont agree with it. It is what it is and move on," Dempsey said after the Seattle Sounders wrapped practice on Thursday. The real concern for some is that the suspension came right before a major U.S. national team exhibition against Mexico next Wednesday. By the time Dempsey takes the field against Mexico in Glendale, Ariz., it will have been more than two weeks since Dempsey last played. And while its just an exhibition, its significant because it will be the last U.S. match before World Cup camp begins in May. "Its a friendly, its not a World Cup qualifier so theres not much pressure that there would be if it was a World Cup qualifying game," Dempsey said. "But its still exciting to represent your country and to play against one of your rivals." Dempsey was suspended and fined for violent conduct toward Toronto FC defender Mark Bloom in a March 15 match. Dempsey hit Bloom in the stomach/groin area, a blow not seen by officials but that was captured by television cameras. Dempsey said after the match that he was trying to slap Blooms hand off his back and did not intend to strike his body. The MLS players union appealed but the suspension was upheld. Dempsey sat last week when Seattle won at Montreal and will be a spectator Saturday when the Sounders host Columbus. Hell return to MLS play on April 5 when Seattle travels to rival Portland. U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann was one of Dempseys most vocal supporters after the suspension was announced. He was quick to point out the number of fouls Dempsey has taken since returning to MLS. "Its very disappointing to see Clint be the only person punished from this game," Klinsmann said last week. "There is a foul against him in the sixth minute that should have been a red card. The persistent fouling continued throughout the game, and hes getting punished for a reaction following all those fouls. Yes he made a mistake, but if opponents dont get penalized for consistently fouling, it only encourages them to continue that approach." According to stats provided by MLS, Dempsey is the most fouled player in the league since Aug. 10 of last season. Dempsey, the U.S. captain, appreciated Klinsmanns concern. "Yeah, for sure its always good that the manager has your back and I appreciate that," Dempsey said. "All I can do is keep working hard and keep working on my fitness after training and making sure I play well when Im with the national team, like I have always done in the past. And make sure I keep playing good with the national team moving forward and pay him back for his faith in me." Dempsey said one solution to the fouls would be for more yellow cards to be handed out earlier in the match. He believes that could create a better rhythm to the game. "I think its important to protect every player," Dempsey said. "The sooner you start giving the cards for reckless fouls then it cuts down on a lot of things and it makes the game more exciting to watch because there is more free flow to it." Reshad Jones Jersey . - Mathew Barzal scored 3:47 into overtime as the Seattle Thunderbirds downed the visiting Everett Silvertips 4-3 on Tuesday in Western Hockey League playoff action.DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross says he spoke with the NFL and the attorney who investigated the teams bullying scandal to get a sense of what will be included in their forthcoming report on the case. "I have an idea what will be in it," Ross said Tuesday. "I havent seen the report. I dont know exactly what his conclusion is. When it comes out, well do what has to be done. In my mind, I know what direction were going." Following an 8-8 season tainted by the scandal, Ross decided to keep coach Joe Philbin and part with general manager Jeff Ireland. Dennis Hickey was introduced as Irelands replacement at a news conference Tuesday, where Ross talked briefly about the case that rocked the franchise at midseason. New York attorney Ted Wells began a leaguee investigation in November, and his report will be released after the Super Bowl. Bob Griese Jersey. Tackle Jonathan Martin left the Dolphins in October and alleged he was harassed daily by teammates, including guard Richie Incognito, who was suspended for the final eight games. Incognito becomes a free agent this winter. When asked if he or Martin will play for the Dolphins again, Ross equivocated. "I dont believe so -- well, I cant say that," Ross said, adding with a chuckle, "Therefore I retract that." Wells report is expected to address the roles of Philbin, his staff and Miami management in the case. One issue is whether anyone on the coaching staff ordered Incognito to toughen up Martin. The case inspired a national debate about workplace bullying. NHL draft lottery losers last year, the Florida Panthers had their number come up this year. Kenny Britt Jersey . In the meantime, chalk up yet another loss for the Buffalo Sabres. The Panthers bucked the odds Tuesday by jumping up a spot and earned the right to the top pick in June. Florida, which finished 29th in the league, vaulted ahead of the last-place Sabres, who had the best odds of winning the lottery held in Toronto. "It means a lot to us. Weve very excited," said Travis Viola, Panthers president of hockey operations. "Were looking to continue to build on our core talent of young players. Its just a great opportunity." It also marked a reversal of fortune for Florida. After finishing last a year ago, the Panthers were relegated to the No. 2 pick after Colorado won the lottery. The top two projected prospects are left wing Samuel Bennett, of OHL Kingston, who finished first in the final rankings released by NHL Central Scouting last week, and OHL Barrie defenceman Aaron Ekblad. The draft will be held in Philadelphia on June 27-28. The Panthers (29-45-8) had an 18.8 per cent chance of winning the lottery, behind only Buffalo (21-51-10), which had a 25 per cent shot. The Sabres continued whats been a losing trend since the season began in October. Buffalos 51 losses were a franchise worst, and the most losses in the NHL since the New York Islanders went 21-51-7-3 in 2000-01. General manager Tim Murray took the latest loss in stride, telling the teams website that he almost anticipated losing out on the No. 1 pick. "Were very comfortable," Murray said. "The other way wouldve been gravy, but its kind of what we thought would happen, and we prepared for it." The Sabres were guaranteed falling no further than second. Florida will have the first pick for the fourth time in franchise history. The Panthers are gradually rebuilding. They made a splash this year by acquiring goalie Roberto Luongo in a trade with Vancouver. And theyll be picking third or better for the fourth time in five years. Their previous top three picks -- defenceman Erik Gudbranson (in 2010), wing Jonathan Huberdeau (2011) and centre Aleksander Barkov (2013) -- all played significant roles this season. "Were anxious to put a winner in Florida," Viola said. The Panthers move up marked the fourth straight year in which the last-place team failed to win the lottery. Since the NHL lottery system was introduced in 1995, the last-place team has earned the No. 1 pick only six times. The Panthers had the No. 1 pick in the 2002 and 2003 drafts, but traded them away both times. They also had the No. 1 pick in 1994, when they selected defenceman Ed Jovanovski. The remaining 11 teams maintained their draft order based on the final standings, starting with the Edmonton Oilers staying with the No. 3 draft pick. Calgary will select fourth followed by the New York Islanders. The top 10 picks are rounded out by Vancouver picking sixth, followed by Carolina, Toronto, Winnipeg and Anaheim. The Pacific Division champion Ducks earned a lottery spot by acquiring a first-round pick in a trade with Ottawa, which finished 21st. The New Jersey Devils, who finished 20th, were included in the lottery to maintain the weighted odds, but were not eligible to be selected. The Devils are already slotted to pick 30th after being sanctioned by the NHL. The league ruled New Jersey circumvented the collective bargaining agreement by attempting to skirt the salary cap by signing Ilya Kovalchuk to a 17-year, $102 million contract in 2010. Center Sam Reinhart (WHL Kootenay) and left wing Leon Draisaitl (WHL Prince Albert) were ranked third and fourth among North American skaters, while the top-ranked European skater is Finnish right wing Kasperi Kapanen. The Sabres actually have a shot at holding three first-round picks based on two trades they made this year. The Islanders have to until June 1 to decide whether to hand over their first-round selection to Buffalo this year or next year. Islanders head amateur scout Trent Klatt said the team has not yet determined its plans. The Sabres will also acquire the Blues first-round pick should St. Louis reach the Western Conference finals. DeShone Kizer Jersey . Patrik Bartosak turned away 50-of-52 shots for the Rebels (28-26-4), who halted their losing streak at seven games. Trailing 2-1 after 40 minutes of play, Feser forced overtime with his second goal of the game at 5:35 of the third period. Carl Nassib Jersey . After losing Brett Cecil to groin tightness on Friday, the Blue Jays watched as R.Colorado Springs, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Will Conant booted a 39-yard field goal as time expired and Air Force played spoiler with a 27-24 win over 21st- ranked Colorado State on Friday. Colorado State faced a 3rd-and-2 from the Air Force 42 with under a minute remaining when Jasen Oden Jr. was stopped for no gain. The Rams gambled on fourth down, but Dee Hart was also stood up and the Falcons took over with 38 seconds to play. On 3rd-and-4 of the ensuing possession, Nate Romine fired to Garrett Brown for 26 yards, setting up Conants game-winner. Romine, who made his first start of the season, was only asked to throw 15 times for the run-heavy Falcons (9-3, 5-3 MW). He completed just six passes for 135 yards while racking up a team-high 61 yards and a touchdown on the ground. D.J. Johnson and Shayne Davern also scored on the ground for Air Force, which finished the regular season with a 6-0 record at Falcon Stadium. The loss overshadowed another big game for CSU receiver Rashard Higgins, who led the nation in yards heading into this week. Higgins made a career-high 12 receptions for 193 yards and a pair of scores. Garrett Grayson threw for 366 yards, three touchdowns and an interception for the Rams (10-2, 6-2), who had won nine straight. Their loss opens the door for the winner of Saturdays matchup between Boise State and Utah State to advance to the Mountain West title game. They beat us on both sides of the ball up front. There were some busted routes but theyre the ones that beat us, Colorado State coach Jim McElwain said. Grayson found Higgins for 22 yards on the second play of the game, then went to him on 3rd-and-9 and extended Colorado States drive with an 11-yard pickup. On the very next play, Higgins caught a 31-yard pass down the left sideline. Grayson and Higgins put the stamp on a dominant first drive with a 7-yard touchdown connection. Kevin Hogan Jersey. The dynamic sophomore made four catches for 71 yards on the 9-play scoring drive. Jalen Robinettes 47-yard catch on the first Air Force series led to Johnsons 5-yard TD run to tie the game at 7. Jared Roberts kicked a 30-yard field goal to cap CSUs next series, but Air Force scored 10 straight points before halftime. A 12-play series that spanned the first and second quarters culminated with a 1-yard Davern TD run, and Conant was pure with a 33-yard field goal later in the half to send the Falcons into the break with a 17-10 lead. Romines QB keeper with 3:09 left in the third quarter put the Falcons up by two touchdowns. Late in the third, Grayson scrambled on third down and found Xavier Williams near the sticks in traffic and the redshirt freshman did the rest, turning on the jets and outrunning the entire Air Force secondary for a 76- yard touchdown. After Romine was sacked on third down and Air Force punted, CSU marched down the field in seven plays. On 3rd-and-goal from the 2, Grayson lofted a fade to Higgins in the back right corner of the end zone, and Higgins made a diving catch to tie the game. Grayson was picked off by Weston Steelhammer on CSUs next drive. (We) had some good forward runs and we came up with two big ones, not only the interception, but the big fourth down stop there inside a minute left, Air Force coach Troy Calhoun said. Game Notes Steelhammer has an interception in three straight games ... Air Force has won five of six overall ... The Falcons have won nine of 10 in the series ... Air Force ran for 242 yards as a team ... Hart had 115 yards but was kept out of the end zone. He had five rushing touchdowns and a receiving TD last week against New Mexico. MANCHESTER, England -- The wall of fame of Manchester United managers still informs Old Trafford visitors that a "new chapter has begun" under David Moyes. A.J. Bouye Jersey . In reality, it was a short, painful chapter in United history that will cost around $90 million, the club disclosed on Wednesday. Although the museum display hasnt been updated, its been more than four months since Moyes was fired before completing a season as Alex Fergusons successor. The task of restoring the former glories is with Louis van Gaal, and the club told investors on Wednesday that the former Netherlands manager needs to deliver a top-three finish in the English Premier League. United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is certain Van Gaal, who won titles with Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, has begun to reinvigorate the club. "The 2013-14 season was a very challenging and disappointing one," Woodward said. "But under Louis there is a real feeling at the training ground that we are at the start of something special. We are very excited about the future." After 26 years under Ferguson, there have been two new chapters in a year. Still searching for his first win after four matches in charge, this manager has to get it right. In its annual financial results, United said it cost 5.2 million pounds ($8.4 million) in compensation to fire Moyes and some of his coaching staff after just 10 months in charge. United, which is owned by the Glazer family and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, remains a commercial juggernaut, with 2013-14 revenue up 19 per cent to a club record 433.2 million pounds ($699 million). But the failure to qualify for Europe under Moyes by finishing seventh has led United to forecast revenue in 2014-15 to drop by 10 per cent -- around $80 million -- to as low as 385 million pounds ($619 million). "Our budgets assume a third-placed finish," Woodward said. Underlying profit is also forecast to drop from 130.1 million pounds ($210 million) to between 90 to 95 million pounds ($145 to $153 million), although the debt which angered fans after the 2005 Glazers takeover has fallen to 341.8 million pounds ($551 million). But the 20-time English champions have been spending heavily in a bid to arrest the decline, reinvesting the sponsorship revenue, which soared by 50 per cent to 135.8 million pounds ($219 million) in the year to June 30. The accounts show 78.9 million pounds ($127 million) spent on players, including the signing of Juan Mata in January for 37.1 million pounds (then $61 million). The wage bill rose by almost 20 per cent to 214.8 million pounds ($345 million). Since the end of the financial year, United has spent more than $200 million, including a British record fee of 59.7 million pounds ($99 million) to sign Argentina midfielder Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid in an attempt to improve Uniteds position. Despite the investment in foreign talent and sale of academy graduates -- including striker Danny Welbeck to Arsenal -- assistant manager Ryan Giggs said the club remains committed to youth development. At least one homegrown player has featured in every United matchday squad since 1937 -- a statistic that covered Giggs before he retired from playing this year. "The club will never change. The history of the club is to play exciting football, always give youngsters a chance," Giggs said at the SoccerEx conference in Manchester. "Danny has left, which is obviously disappointing because you never want to see a homegrown player leave ... but we have got to make sure young players come through because United fans demand it." But there will soon be further sponsorship cash to spend on transfers. Next years accounts will reflect the start of the seven-year $559 million shirt sponsorship with Chevrolet, but an Adidas kit deal, worth potentially 75 million pounds ($121 million) a year, doesnt start until 2015-16. "Commercially, we continue to go from strength to strength," Woodward said. Marcedes Lewis Jersey .5 million. Kelli Stack and Alex Carpenter also scored for the Americans, who avoided a repeat of Finlands upset at the Four Nations Cup in Lake Placid, N.Y., in November. Finnish goalie Noora Raty made 58 saves in that one, but the three-time Olympian could stop just 40 of 43 U. OTTAWA -- The Ottawa Redblacks have signed veteran defensive lineman Keith Shologan to a one-year contract extension. The 28-year-old from Rochester, Alta., was selected by the Redblacks from the Saskatchewan Roughriders roster in the 2013 CFL Expansion Draft. "We knew that Keith was an exceptional player and leader when we selected him in the expansion draft and he has proven that both on and off the field," Redblacks general manager Marcel Desjardins said in a statement. "He works hard during both games and pracctices, and Keith is a fine representative of our team in the community as well. Allen Robinson Jersey. " Shologan has started in all seven Redblacks games this season and has registered nine defensive tackles. "Id like to thank the Redblacks for this opportunity," said Shologan. "The fans in Ottawa and Gatineau have been tremendous and welcoming to our family. Its truly been a pleasure to play here with a great group of teammates in front of such awesome fans." Subject :Any NFL team that drafts Michael Sam will be taking on much more than a rookie pass-rusher. Jay Pros

Any NFL team that drafts Michael Sam will be taking on much more than a rookie pass-rusher. Jay Prosch Jersey . But experts say the smart approach for a team that signs the leagues first openly gay athlete -- from a marketing and public relations standpoint -- is to simply let Sams on-field play speak for him and his team. "While this is a significant announcement given the sport, the general hope is that hes just accepted as one of the other men on the roster, and therefore his marketability is still simply tied to his ability to play well on the field and ultimately make the team," said Paul Swangard, managing director of the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center at the University of Oregon. Sam declared Sunday that he is gay in interviews with ESPN, The New York Times and Outsports. The Missouri All-American had already come out last August to his coaches and teammates, who respected his privacy. Now Sam is entering uncharted territory as he prepares for the NFL draft. The SECs co-defensive player of the year was projected to be a mid-round selection. At 6-foot-2, 255 pounds, Sam will likely have to transition to outside linebacker, which could impact where hes drafted. But announcing hes gay could also have an impact on his draft status. "Im not naive to think there arent potentially some owners or executives out there who will say, Eh, Im not so sure now." said Golden State Warriors President and Chief of Operations Rick Welts, who came out publicly in 2011. "But also, I hope, there are a lot who would say, Theres an opportunity to do something that I think our fans would actually embrace. And if were supposed to win football games, if this guy helps us win football games, thats somebody we should have on our roster." Sam, 24, joins a growing list of active athletes to publicly come out, including Robbie Rogers, a winger for Major League Soccers Los Angeles Galaxy, and Brittney Griner, who plays for the WNBAs Phoenix Mercury. Conner Mertens, a kicker for Division III Willamette University, came out as bisexual late last month, and is believed to have been the first active college football player to publicly announce his sexuality. Griner, as one of the WNBAs brightest stars, was the centerpiece of the Mercurys marketing campaign. She also made a point of supporting causes that are important to her. "There was nothing about her that was difficult in marketing. We supported what she wanted to do with bullying and the LGBT community. We made those connecting points," said Amber Cox, president of the Mercury before leaving to go to the Big East last fall. Nike has also thrown support to LGBT athletes, signing both Griner and Jason Collins, a former NBA player who came out last year, to sponsorship deals, and launching its "Be True" campaign. Profits from the .BeTrue collection are being donated to the LGBT Sports Coalition to support the goal of ending discrimination in sport. Mark Elderkin of the Gay Ad Network, an online media platform for national advertisers, said NFL teams need only look at Sams track record. "Theyre going to make their choices based on who the best college athletes are. And theyre going to choose Michael if they deem him the best pick. So, I think they need to focus on the facts, and his performance over the years, his All-America status and everything hes done for Missouri," Elderkin said. "Also his relationships with the fans, and with the positive energy he has around his teammates and their full support, shows that hes not going to be disruptive to the team in any way, but is going to add value." But its still a reality that gay athletes face a backlash. Derogatory comments were easily found among the positive posts on social media and other online commentary following Sams announcement. A Pew Research survey last year of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender adults in the U.S. found that just 4 per cent saw pro sports leagues as friendly toward LGBT people, while 59 per cent saw the leagues as unfriendly and 36 per cent saw them as neutral. Still, even over the past year there have been significant overall victories in gay and lesbian rights, most notably two U.S. Supreme Court decisions in June. One ruling cleared the way for ending a ban on same-sex marriages in California; the other struck down a 1996 law passed by Congress that banned federal recognition of same-sex marriages. It remains to be seen how growing tolerance extends to the NFL playing field. "I think the point thats being made in a lot of the discussion is, Lets just move on," Swangard said. "If the guy makes a team, then he makes the team. His sexual orientation shouldnt be the story." LONDON -- Former Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins expects to miss this years race, complaining that his team is focusing on his bitter rival and defending champion Chris Froomes title defence. Roger Staubach Jersey . Wiggins, who became the first British rider to win cyclings showpiece two years ago, was not selected to compete with Froome at the Criterium du Dauphine, the tuneup event for the Tour. It was a clear indication that he was unlikely to line up in Yorkshire on July 5 for the Tours start in England. Speaking to the BBC Breakfast program on Friday, the 34-year-old multiple Olympic gold medallist voiced his disappointment at being left out by Team Sky despite a recent surge in form and his victory at the Tour of California last month. "I am gutted," Wiggins said. "I feel I am in the form I was two years ago. Now if I want to go to the Tour again, the reality is that I might have to go elsewhere. I also understand that cycling is a team sport and it is all about Team Sky winning and Chris is defending champion." Wiggins contract with Sky expires at the end of the season. Although Wiggins told French newspaper LEquipe there is still a chance he may make the Tour if Froome picks up an injury at the Dauphine from June 8-15, its unlikely Wiggins will be riding in France this summer. "Having missed the Tour again this year, I wouldnt like to leave it there," said the former pursuit specialist, who could now turn his focus on competing on the track at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, in August. "Id love to go back at some point so there is the chance that I would go back to the Tour next year." Froome will warm up for the Tour at the Dauphine while Wiggins is still expected to compete at the Tour de Suisse. Froome, who also won the weeklong Dauphine in France last year as part of his dominant season, will be surrounded by a team made of strong climbers in the mountainous event, including last years Dauphine runner-up Richie Porte, Vasil Kiryienka, David Lopez, Mikel Nieve, Danny Pate, Geraint Thomas and Xabier Zandio. Froome and Wiggins have endured a frosty relationship over the past few years. Tensions first arose during the 2012 Tour, with Froome sometimes looking the stronger rider in the climbs but being ordered by the team to support Wiggins rather than attack. Last year, after suggesting he would seek to defend his title and upset Skys plans of making Froome its leader, Wiggins missed the race because of health issues and Froome easily won the 100th edition of the race. Froome recently said his relationship with Wiggins was back to normal, and Wiggins was adamant he would support his younger teammate if he was selected. The second-seeded world No. 1 superstar Nadal exacted some revenge by coming back to beat Czech Lukas Rosol 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4, 6-4 on the famed Centre Court. Rosol shocked Nadal in the second round here two years ago, and Nadal was a first-round loser against Belgian Steve Darcis in the opening round last year. Rosol had a set point in the second-set tiebreak but was unable to convert, as Nadal saved it with a forehand winner and Rosol double-faulted two points later to give the Spaniard the set. Nadal ultimately completed his comeback in 2 hours, 44 minutes. The big-serving 6-foot-5 Rosol popped 17 aces, compared to 11 for Nadal, who broke his Czech counterpart three times, compared to two breaks for the loser. Nadal has now beaten Rosol twice since losing to the Czech slugger here in 2012. The mighty Spaniards other win came in Doha, Qatar, back in January. "I never play for revenge. Every match is a different match. My goal is not to beat Rosol but to play as well as I can in the tournament," Nadal said. The 14-time Grand Slam champion Nadal, who is the reigning French and U.S. Open titlist, is now 38-7 lifetime at Wimbledon, where hes a two-time winner and three-time runner-up. Up next for the 28-year-old great will be Kazakhstans Mikhail Kukushkin. The fourth-seeded former world No. 1 great Federer eased past Luxembourgs Gilles Muller 6-3, 7-5, 6-3 under the roof on Centre Court. Rain forced the closure of the roof during the second set. Federer improved to 69-8 lifetime at The Championships, where he also finished as a runner-up in 2008 in addition to those seven titles. The 17-time Grand Slam king titled on grass in Halle two weeks ago. He awaits the Marcel Granollers-Santiago Giraldo winner. The fifth-seeded Swiss star Wawrinka moved on by striking 56 winners and holding off Taiwans Yen-Hsun Lu, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. Wawrinka will meet Uzbekistans Denis Istomin on Saturday. In other action involving top-10 seeds, No. 8 Milos Raonic, of Canada, reached the third round at Wimbledon for the first time by humbling American Jack Sock 6-3, 6-4, 6-4, No. 9 American John Isner erased veteran Finnish left-hander Jarkko Nieminen 7-6 (19-17), 7-6 (7-3), 7-5, and No. 10 Kei Nishikori, of Japan, erased American Denis Kudla 6-3, 6-2, 6-1. The youngest player in the mens draw, 19-year-old Aussie Nick Kyrgios, pulled off an impressive upset by coming from two-sets-to-love down to eliminate 13th-seeded Frenchman and former Wimbledon semifinalist Richard Gasquet, 3-6, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 7-5, 10-8. Joe Looney Jersey. Kyrgios smacked 21 aces and saved nine match points in the remarkable victory on the No. 2 Court. The Aussie needed 3 hours, 53 minutes to advance, as Gasquet ripped 27 aces in a losing effort. In a match that was suspended because of darkness on Wednesday, 14th-seeded French star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga finished off American Sam Querrey 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 14-12. The two men returned to the court knotted at 9-9 in the final set on Thursday. Tsonga and Querrey combined for 70 aces, including 37 from the French winner, in the two-day, 3-hour, 49-minute affair. The match featured only three service breaks, with Tsonga gaining two of them. Italian Simone Bolelli took out 22nd-seeded German Philipp Kohlschreiber 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5, while 23rd-seeded Spaniard Tommy Robredo bested Frances Adrian Mannarino 6-4, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) and Czech Jiri Vesely upended 24th-seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), 6-7 (3-7), 6-4. Also on Day 4, Kukushkin drubbed Canadian Frank Dancevic 6-3, 6-3, 6-2, Istomin defeated German Julian Reister, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4, 6-4, and Polands Lukasz Kubot overcame Serbian Dusan Lajovic 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Kubot was a surprise Wimbledon quarterfinalist last year. Rain forced the suspension or postponement of three matches, as 15th-seeded 2013 semifinalist Jerzy Janowicz was leading former world No. 1 and former Wimbledon champ Lleyton Hewitt 7-5, 4-4, 19th-seeded Feliciano Lopez never took to the court against Croat Ante Pavic, and 30th-seeded Spaniard Marcel Granollers was ahead of Colombian Santiago Giraldo 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-1, 1-6, 2-1 when play was called for the day. Lopez titled on grass in Eastbourne last week and was a runner-up on grass the week before at Londons Queens Club. The third round will commence Friday, including matches for top-seeded former champion Novak Djokovic and third-seeded reigning champ Andy Murray. Last years runner-up to Murray, Djokovic, will meet Frances Gilles Simon, while Murray will take on last weeks grass-court champion in The Netherlands, 27th- seeded Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut. Also seeing third-round action will be sixth-seeded 2010 Wimbledon runner-up Tomas Berdych, 11th-seeded recent Queens Club champ Grigor Dimitrov and the former Aussie Open runner-up Tsonga. NOBLESVILLE, Ind. Matt Bryant Jersey . - A change of plea hearing has been set for Tuesday for Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, who faces drug-related charges following a March traffic stop. Hamilton County Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Andre Miksha said Friday that a not guilty plea had previously been entered on behalf of the 55-year-old Colts owner. Miksha said in an email he cannot "provide any details of — or even verify the existence of — an agreement unless and until one" is filed Tuesday with Hamilton Superior Court or at a later date. Messages seeking comment were left Friday with Irsays attorney, Jim Voyles. Irsay was arrested March 16 near his suburban Indianapolis home after he was spotted driving slowly, stopping in the roadway and failing to use a turn signal. Officers said he had trouble reciting the alphabet and failed field sobriety tests. A police report said an officer believed Irsay to be intoxicated, but not on alcohol. Various prescription drugs were found in his vehicle, along with more than $29,000 in cash. Irsay was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a Schedule I or II controlled substance in his body. His trial had been scheduled for Thursday, but he requested and received a continuance. Less than 48 hours after his March arrest, the Colts said Irsay had entered a treatment facility. He resumed his duties with the Colts at the NFL draft in early May. Irsay acknowledged in 2002 he had become dependent on painkillers after several years of orthopedic operations. He said then that he had overcome the problem. Irsay became the Colts owner in 1997 after the death of his father, Robert Irsay, and a lengthy legal battle with his fathers second wife. Jose Mourinho says he will return to football in July but knows nothing about his chances of joining Manchester United. Archie Manning Jersey . Mourinho remains long odds-on to be Uniteds next boss, although sources told Sky Sports News HQ last month no agreement was in place. The former Chelsea manager, who left Stamford Bridge in December, has repeatedly denied a deal is in place to succeed Louis van Gaal. Spurs fine with Poch-Fergie meet Spurs told Sky Sports they have no issues with Mauricio Pochettino meeting Sir Alex Ferguson And speaking in Mexico City, where he was coaching a FIFA Legends team against a Mexican All-stars line-up he said: I dont know. I know nothing about it really. I dont have a club.Mourinho expects that to change soon, though, and he repeated a belief he will be back in management this summer. Manchester Uniteds defeat at West Ham means they are outside the top four going into the final day In July, I will be back, he said. So we are in May. May to July is nothing. I keep enjoying my life which Im doing, keep enjoying my family. But in July I am back.Louis van Gaal has one year to run on his contract and could yet deliver an FA Cup and Champions League qualification this season if results go his way on the final day of the Premier League this weekend. Watch Ronaldinho, Luis Figo and Dwight Yorke roll back the years playing for a FIFA legends team. Theres also a last ditch tackle to save a goal from Jose Mourinho The Dutchman has already been involved in planning for next season, a luxury Mourinho will be denied wherever he ends up.He said: Its difficult because when you get a new club in this period normally the clubs have already done their work. Paul Scholes believes Manchester United fans have not been entertained this season I give you an example. Im not the Chelsea manager, but I organised the Chelsea pre-season in many aspects because I did that 10 months ago.Clubs have their commercial, marketing departments always involved in everything. When a new manager arrives in May, June its very difficult to touch in some points, but we know that. Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca. Hi Kerry, I looked for a comment online from you on the Nazem Kadri hit on Cody Ceci on Saturday night from the Sens/Leafs game, but didnt find one! I have always respected your on-ice decision skills, so I would like your opinion regarding this hit. Was this a case of the player turning his back when he was going to be hit or did Kadri hit a player in a vulnerable position? Thanks,Randy Eades Hi Randy: I did post a late comment @kfraserthecall on Twitter that you must have missed. Sorry it was late but I was engaged in Twitter combat (and being duly vilified) by Canadiens fans over the Brendan Gallagher episode against the Jets! With regard to your question, Cody Ceci was positioned facing the end boards in order to retrieve the puck after it was turned back from the corner by teammate Jared Cowen and as he was being pressured on the forecheck by Nikolai Kulemin of the Leafs.  Ceci didnt intentionally turn his body at the last second to set himself up for a hit by Nazem Kadri. That had no bearing on why a penalty call did not result. Instead, Ceci was facing square to the end boards waiting for the puck to arrive on his stick just as Kadri angled from the front of the net and delivered a body check that should have resulted in a boarding minor penalty. The initial point of contact delivered by Kadri was to the left hip of Ceci and not on the numbers.  The finishing upward push exerted by Nazem Kadri caused the Ottawa player to tumble forward into the boards. Let me explain for Senators coach Paul McLean and the Ottawa fans why the call was missed by the referees. When you re-examine the video clossely, you will see that referee Paul Devorski, working past his 1,500th game, pivoted out from the corner toward the end faceoff circle in order to vacate the space that Jared Cowen and Nikolai Kulemin would occupy in pursuit of the puck. Drew Brees Jersey. The referee then rotated his body 360 degrees in a drift back below the goal line but retained visual focus on both Cowen and Kulemin with a fixed glance over his shoulder well after Cowen dished the puck back toward Ceci.  It is clearly evident from the footage that referee Devorski did not turn his head and visual focus toward the action near the net until after Kadri had delivered the illegal hit on Ceci. All the referee witnessed at this point was Ceci down on the ice and Kadri in possession of the puck just prior to a tape-to-tape pass out front to Joffrey Lupul for the Leafs goal. I am positive that referee Devorski would have deemed the hit by Kadri to be worthy of a boarding minor infraction if he had been focused on and witnessed the contact. Since the hit happened directly behind the net the back referee would have at best, an obstructed view if he was looking in that direction. His primary responsibility and area of coverage however was on the action away from the puck; which at that point would have included Cowen and Kulemin in the corner. While we do not see the back referee in the footage, it is conceivable that both refs failed to transition their area of focus once the puck was thrown back behind the net by Cowen. If that were the case, both refs maintained visual focus on the two players in the corner and did not observe the Kadri boarding on Ceci. I hate to be bearer of bad news coach Paul, but that is how the boarding penalty to Kadri was missed and resulted in the Leafs goal that tied the game at two! Subject :Minnesota Wild forward Matt Cooke is having an in-person hearing in New York for kneeing Colorado Av

Minnesota Wild forward Matt Cooke is having an in-person hearing in New York for kneeing Colorado Avalanche defenceman Tyson Barrie. Zach Cunningham Jersey . The incident occurred in the second period of the Wilds 1-0 Game 3 victory over the Avalanche. Cooke was assessed a two-minute minor for kneeing on the play. Coach Patrick Roy said after the Wilds 1-0 overtime win on Monday that Barrie has a medial collateral ligament injury in his left knee and will need four to six weeks to recover. Roy said he expressed confidence the league will discipline Cooke, who has a long history of suspensions, for the hit. The offer of an in-person hearing means the NHL holds the right to suspend Cooke for five games or more. Roy called it the "play of the game," lamenting the loss of his teams best offensive defenceman. The coach said he thought the play warranted more punishment than Cookes two-minute minor penalty. "I think it wouldve broke their momentum. Theres a key moment in those games. And now we believe that the league will make the right call," Roy said. Barrie had 13 goals and 25 assists in the regular season. Shane Lechler Jersey . Bryce Harper? He also came into Wednesday without a long ball and hadnt driven in a run. Gronk returns to a big role, Douglas steps out of the shadows, Vick is on his way back, RGIII running strong, Rivers doesnt miss, Lacy leads the way, Luck shines in the spotlight and more in Scott Cullens 50 Points on NFL Week Seven. 1. Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (8 REC, 114 YDS, 17 targets) returned to action, and not a moment too soon, given the state of the Patriots passing game and while his numbers were good, getting targeted a career-high 17 times in his first game of the season was probably not the most optimal approach for the New England offence. 2. Falcons QB Matt Ryan (20-for-26, 273 YDS, 3 TD) put up good numbers even though he was without injured wide receivers Roddy White and Julio Jones. That created an opportunity for WR Harry Douglas (7 REC, 149 YDS, 1 TD, 7 targets) to step up and he sure did that. 3. Eagles QB Nick Foles (11-for-29, 80 YDS) struggled against Dallas, then got hurt. In came Matt Barkley (11-for-20, 129 YDS, 0 TD, 3 INT) who isnt yet ready for primetime, so its no surprise that Michael Vick is returning as the starting quarterback next week. 4. Washington QB Robert Griffin III (18-for-29, 298 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT; 84 YDS, 11 carries) had a big game against Chicago. Theres surely more health risk when Griffin runs, but hes been successful, rushing 20 times for 161 yards in the last two weeks. 5. Chargers QB Philip Rivers (22-for-26, 285 YDS, 1 TD) is killing it week after week. His accuracy, a league-best 73.9% completion rate, is notably better than his previous career-high (66.0%). 6. Now that hes healthy, Packers RB Eddie Lacy (108 YDS, 1 TD, 27 touches) is churning out yards just as the Packers hoped, giving them a power running game to both complement their passing game and take over when the aerial assault isnt working. 7. Colts QB Andrew Luck (21-for-38, 229 YDS, 3 TD; 29 YDS, 1 TD, 4 carries) came up big in marquee game. It was the second time in his career that Luck has accounted for four touchdowns in a game. 8. Bears QB Jay Cutler (3-for-8, 28 YDS) suffered a groin injury against Washington and it will keep him out of action for the next four weeks, leaving Josh McCown (14-for-20, 204 YDS, 1 TD; 33 YDS, 4 carries) as the Bears starter. Given McCowns spotty track record -- hes thrown for 300 yards four times in 33 career starts and has 38 touchdowns and 44 interceptions in the NFL -- that makes wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, as well as tight end Martellus Bennett, less appealing than they would be with Cutler at quarterback. 9. Bengals QB Andy Dalton (24-for-34, 372 YDS, 3 TD) had a huge game at Detroit, connecting with WR A.J. Green (6 REC, 155 YDS, 1 TD, 8 targets). It was the second straight week in which Green had 100 yards receiving while also catching all six passes thrown in his direction. 10. Lions QB Matt Stafford (28-for-51, 357 YDS, 3 TD) tried to match Dalton, but came up just short. WR Calvin Johnson (9 REC, 155 YDS, 2 TD, 15 targets) performed much better than he did in Week Six, when he first returned to the lineup after a knee injury. 11. Titans QB Jake Locker (25-for-41, 326 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT; 29 YDS, 3 carries) made a quick return to the Titans lineup and was productive in a losing effort. WR Kendall Wright (9 REC, 98 YDS, 12 targets) certainly benefitted from having Locker running the offence. 12. Washington TE Jordan Reed (9 REC, 134 YDS, 1 TD, 9 targets) took a big step forward. He had nine catches for 108 yards in the previous two games -- decent production -- before busting out against the Bears. 13. Broncos WR Eric Decker (8 REC, 150 YDS, 1 TD, 13 targets) has been incredibly productive, even as the third-ranked receiver on his team. Decker ranks 11th in fantasy points per game (10.9), while Wes Welker (12.7) is third and Demaryius Thomas (12.6) is sixth. 14. Eagles WR Riley Cooper (6 REC, 88 YDS, 7 targets) played a bigger role in the offence for the second straight week. WR Jason Avant (3 REC, 32 YDS, 12 targets) was actually the most-targeted Eagles receiver, but he wasnt terribly efficient. It will be interesting to see if Cooper can continue to be productive with Vick back under centre. 15. Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (54 YDS, 12 touches) struggled against Atlanta before suffering a shoulder injury that is likely to keep him out indefinitely -- at least a few weeks, but potentially for the rest of the season. Mike James (53 YDS, 17 touches) saw the most action in relief, but he had a total of five touches in his career before that performance, so Brian Leonard and recently-added Bobby Rainey could also be in the mix for carries in Martins absence. 16. While the running game might be a mess, at least Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (10 REC, 138 YDS, 2 TD, 22 targets) is salvaging his value, as apparently the only receiver to catch QB Mike Glennons eye. Jackson ranks second in the league with 77 targets after he was targeted 36 times in the last two weeks. 17. With Green Bay missing receivers Randall Cobb and James Jones, Packers WR Jarrett Boykin (8 REC, 103 YDS, 1 TD, 10 targets) stepped into the starting lineup and produced like he should have been a starter all along. 18. Packers TE Jermichael Finley (5 REC, 72 YDS, 1 TD) had a strong game, but suffered a spinal cord contusion, an injury that could keep him out long-term. Andrew Quarless moves up the depth chart in Finleys absence. 19. Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (123 YDS, 1 TD, 24 touches) remains the top back in fantasy, with 898 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns. 20. With questions at quarterback, the Bears will need RB Matt Forte (109 YDS, 3 TD, 18 touches) even more. Forte has been remarkably consistent, gaining at least 90 yards in every game this season. 21. Chargers RB Ryan Mathews (110 YDS, 1 TD, 21 carries) has been rejuvenated, going over 100 yards the last couple weeks. Danny Woodhead (76 YDS, 1 TD, 13 touches) remains one of the best non-starting backs in the league. 22. Falcons RB Jacquizz Rodgers (62 YDS, 2 TD, 16 touches) had a reasonably productive day, especially with the pair of touchdowns, but couldnt get loose in the running game, gaining 16 yards on eight carries. Its the second straight game in which Rodgers has scored two touchdowns, adding value to otherwise mediocre yardage totals. 23. Lions RB Reggie Bush (94 YDS, 23 touches) got his touches, but wasnt as productive against the Bengals. Bush still ranks fifth with 731 yards from scrimmage. 24. Bills RB Fred Jackson (85 YDS, 1 TD, 15 touches) suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury, yet somehow returned to action and had another productive day, which stood in stark contrast to C.J. Spiller (7 YDS, 9 touches), a fantasy first-rounder who has gained a total of 398 yards from scrimmage, just ahead of the Saints Pierre Thomas. 25. Washington RB Alfred Morris (95 YDS, 19 carries) had a reasonably productive day, but lost out on a monster fantasy performance because Roy Helu Jr. (41 YDS, 3 TD, 11 carries) got the red zone work. Helu hasp layed a bigger role, with double-digit touches in each of the last three games. 26. 49ers RB Frank Gore (104 YDS, 2 TD, 26 touches) is probably aa little under-appreciated, having gaind 637 yards from scrimmage with five touchdowns. Jay Prosch Jersey. . In standard fantasy formats, thats good enough to ranks seventh at the position. 27. Texans RB Arian Foster (11 YDS, 4 carries) suffered a hamstring injury at Kansas City, a poor follow-up to his season-high 198 yards from scrimmage the week before. Ben Tate (55 YDS, 17 touches) handled the bulk of the rushing with Foster out, but Tate is seeing his average come down steadily after a strong start. Over the last three games, Tate has 90 yards on 32 carries (2.8 ypc). 28. Steelers RB LeVeon Bell (99 YDS, 20 touches) had a solid game against Baltimore, providing some reason for optimism going forward. 29. Cowboys RB Joseph Randle (93 YDS, 22 touches) was reasonably productive, starting in place of an injured DeMarco Murray. Of course, the only rushing touchdown was a one-yard plunge by Philip Tanner, who had two carries total against the Eagles, so Randle lost out on that potential value booster, but such is the fickleness of goalline carries. 30. Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas (58 YDS, 13 touches) had the edge over Lamar Miller (47 YDS, 10 touches) in the Miami running back battle. It was Thomas most yardage in a game since Nov. 25, 2012. Mabye not enough to take the job from Miller, but enough to limit the appeal of Miller since hes not clearly the number one back. At least not clearly enough. 31. Patriots RB Stevan Ridley (53 YDS, 1 TD, 13 touches) didnt exactly build on his Week Six breakthrough, but his touchdown at least made for a relatively productive day against the Jets. 32. Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (59 YDS, 16 touches) lost some touches, including standard goalline carries, to Mike Tolbert (36 YDS, 1 TD, 13 carries). Williams has been productive this year, gaining 547 yards from scrimmage, but he has zero touchdowns and Jonathan Stewart is back at practice. Stewart isnt expected to play this week, but will be back soon and that will cut into Williams value even more. 33. Jets RB Chris Ivory (104 YDS, 34 carries) took the ball and ran with it against New England, leaving Bilal Powell (6 YDS, 3 carries) to a spectators role. Thats a much heavier workload tha Ivory has handled before and isnt likely to continue but Powell has been the only threat in the Jets backfield this season, so Ivorys emergence makes it look like a backfield with split duties is more of a reality than it has been at any point this year. 34. Colts RB Donald Brown (65 YDS, 14 touches) continues to split carries with Trent Richardson (37 YDS, 1 fumble, 14 carries) in the Colts backfield. 35. Titans RB Chris Johnson (110 YDS, 1 TD, 13 touches) took a break from committing fantasy murder to bust loose for a productive game. His 13 touches was a season low, but his 66-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter against San Francisco salvaged an otherwise unremarkable day. 36. Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (56 yards, 15 touches) had his least productive day since Christmas Eve, 2011. 37. Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (8 REC, 97 YDS, 1 TD, 10 targets) was the preferred choice for Jets QB Geno Smith (17-for-33, 233 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT) against a New England secondary that was missing its best cornerback, Aqib Talib. 38. Even with Miles Austin playing the last couple weeks, its looking like second-year Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (6 REC, 71 YDS, 1 TD, 7 targets) is usurping Austin as the No. 2 receiver. 39. As for Bears receivers, Alshon Jeffery (4 REC, 105 YDS, 7 targets) and Brandon Marshall (6 REC, 75 YDS, 10 targets) had decent days against Washington, but as long as Josh McCown is involved, beware. 40. Patriots QB Tom Brady (22-for-46, 228 YDS, 0 TD, 1 INT) was held under 230 yards passing for the fourth time in seven games in Sundays loss to the Jets and hes passed for one touchdown in the last three games. 41. Colts WR Reggie Wayne (5 REC, 50 YDS, 8 targets) suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season. Darrius Heyward-Bey (4 REC, 44 YDS, 1 TD, 7 targets; 30 YDS, 1 carry) will have a more prominent role going forward, but T.Y. Hilton becomes the primary option in the Colts passing game. 42. Rams QB Sam Bradford (21-for-30, 255 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT) suffered a torn ACL against Carolina, ending his season. The Rams offence was already shaky, but with Kellen Clemens at the helm, it could be trouble. If looking for a second-team receiver who could make the jump with a new starting quarterback, consider Brian Quick, a big target who has nine catches for 196 yards this season. 43. If anyone in the Rams offence is going to have value, it may as well be RB Zak Stacy (87 YDS, 1 TD, 21 touches) has gained at least 75 yards in three straight games. 44. Chargers rookie WR Keenan Allen (3 REC, 67 YDS, 6 targets) was just coming into his own, but didnt have a huge day against Jacksonville. Like many receivers facing the Jaguars, their services arent required as much once a team gets out to a sizeable lead. 45. Jacksonvilles trio of wideouts: Cecil Shorts (8 REC, 80 YDS, 13 targets), Justin Blackmon (6 REC, 58 YDS, 9 targets) and Mike Brown (5 REC, 120 YDS, 8 targets) had productive days against San Diego as QB Chad Henne (23-for-36, 318 YDS, 1 INT) had his second straight 300-yard passing game. Of course, Henne hasnt thrown a touchdown in either of those games, so the yardage is pretty much empty calories. 46. Browns QB Brandon Weeden (17-for-42, 149 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT) had the kind of game that might have been feared/expected. Weedens limitations could translate into limitations for WR Josh Gordon and TE Jordan Cameron, both of whom have shown very positive signs this season. 47. Vikings QB Josh Freeman (20-for-53, 190 YDS, 1 INT) was a mess in his first start, but did have 19 targets to wideouts Greg Jennings and Jerome Simpson, so he wasnt shy about trying to go down the field. He just wasnt effective. 48. Bills DE Mario Williams added a couple more sacks, giving him 10 on the season. Thats 10 in seven games, on pace for 23 in a full 16-game regular season. 49. Bengals OLB Vontaze Burfict (13 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 PD) was undrafted after a tumultuous college career at Arizona State, but now leads the NFL with 77 tackles in his second season. 50. Other defenders with productive days: Cowboys MLB Sean Lee (11 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TFL); Eagles MLB DeMeco Ryans (9 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT); Buccaneers OLB Lavonte David (10 tackles, 3 TFL), Lions MLB Stephen Tulloch (12 tackles, 1 TFL); Dolphins S Reshad Jones (10 tackles, 1 sack); Patriots DE Chandler Jones (11 tackles, 2 sacks); Patriots DT Chris Jones (10 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 TFL); Bears CB Charles Tillman (8 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PD); Rams MLB James Laurinaitis (11 tackles, 1 sack), Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny (14 tackles), Browns S T.J. Ward (11 tackles, 1 TFL); Packers OLB Jamari Lattimore (12 tackles, 1 sack, 1 PD), Packers ILB A.J. Hawk (12 tackles); Chiefs OLB Tamba Hali (6 tackles, 2.5 sacks), Steelers ILB Lawrence Timmons (17 tackles) Scott Cullen can be reached at Scott.Cullen@bellmedia.ca and followed on Twitter at http://twitter.com/tsnscottcullen. Subject :MONTREAL - Jonathan Crompton went to see American Sniper at a local cinema this week and got spotted

MONTREAL - Jonathan Crompton went to see American Sniper at a local cinema this week and got spotted by a fan because of his shaggy long hair. Mark Clayton Jersey .I was going to buy some popcorn, because you cant watch a movie without popcorn, and this lady comes up with her husband and kids and says I wish you all the best this year and I recognized you because of your hair, the Montreal Alouettes quarterback said Wednesday. So my hairs the most recognizable thing. I cant hide it.Crompton hopes to be more than just a wild hairdo as he enters his second season with the Alouettes after a see-saw 2014 campaign. He was cut in training camp by the Edmonton Eskimos in May, but then signed in mid-season just in time to help Montreal turn around what had been a disastrous campaign. The 27-year-old was not the most elegant pivot, completing 58.1 per cent of his passes for a so-so 85.2 quarterback rating. But he took over as starter on a 1-7 team and helped them finish a respectable 9-9.He also led Montreal over British Columbia in the East semifinal before losing a week later to Hamilton. This year, Crompton will have the benefit of a full training camp and go into the season for the first time as the incumbent starter. Were still a long ways from training camp and weve got a lot of work to do, said Crompton, in town for a week-long visit. We need to get ready for mini-camp in April. The organization has to go through the draft and all that. But were excited. Were looking forward to the opportunity ahead. It cant come fast enough.Quarterback was a nightmare position last season as the Alouettes tried to find a replacement for retired CFL all-time passing leader Anthony Calvillo. They thought their guy would be Troy Smith, but the 2006 Heisman Trophy winner struggled to complete passes and rarely ran the ball. The team also didnt win with Tanner Marsh or Alex Brink behind centre.Crompton was fourth on the depth chart when he signed a three-year contract in July. His arrival came just after general manager Jim Popp brought in two coaches, former quarterbacks Jeff Garcia and Turk Schonert, to help inexperienced offensive co-ordinator Ryan Dinwiddie. They liked what they saw in Crompton, who had eight appearances in 2013 as backup to Mike Reilly in Edmonton. He saw his first action as an Alouette on Aug. 22 when he relieved Brink in the second quarter of a 24-16 loss to Winnipeg. The Asheville, N.C., native looked sharp as he passed for 266 yards. The next week, he got his first CFL start in a win over Ottawa to start the Alouettes on an unlikely climb back to respectability. Including playoffs, the club went 9-2 with Crompton as the starter. Now he wants to keep it going.Im not going to change the way I prepare now that Im the starter, he said. I prepared the same even when I wasnt the starter. My mindset hasnt changed a bit. Right now, Im just enjoying the off-season with my family, working out and staying focused. He should also benefit from greater stability in the organization. Last off-season, the Alouettes took until late in the winter to name Tom Higgins as head coach get the rest of the staff in place. It took nearly half the season for the staff to be settled.Higgins is back, with defensive co-ordinator Noel Thorpe as assistant head coach, while Kavis Reed will handle special teams. Schonert was promoted to offensive co-ordinator as well as quarterbacks coach, filling in for Garcia who left the quarterbacks position at the end of the season. Dinwiddie remains as an offensive assistant coach along with Calvillo, who will make his coaching debut. Its different not having someone you worked with every day, but this is a business, said Crompton. I havent had back to back (position) coaches since high school. Its always a changing environment, so we try to keep it as constant as possible within ourselves. We wish Jeff the best. He helped me out tremendously, mentally and physically. But now my focus is on this year.Another change is that the long hair will soon be gone. He has already promised it to the Locks For Love campaign, which supplies wigs to kids with cancer. But hair has become his signature feature, so he has vowed to grow it back.Im not going to go completely bald, its just not my look, I guess you can say, he said. I want to have a decent length of hair. My thought process is that I want to grow it as long as I can so when I cut it, I have a little hanging out of the helmet. That would be ideal because I feel thats whats most recognizable about me now, my hair. Cordrea Tankersley Jersey . The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no announcement was made. By releasing Bailey, the Broncos would open up cap space with the 12-time Pro Bowl player scheduled to make around $10 million next season. Raekwon McMillan Jersey . This week, they discuss the NCAAs revenue sharing, Don Zimmer, soccer language and Super Bowl 50.VERONA, N.Y. -- Tiger Woods is returning to play in Notah Begays charity event. It will mark the fifth time Woods will take part in the NB3 Foundation Challenge put on annually by his former college roommate at Stanford. This years event at Turning Stone Resort is Aug. 27. Woods will be paired with Begay at the resorts Atunyote Golf Club. Jason Dufner and Jimmy Walker will round out the tteam. Matt Haack Jersey. . Jonas Blixt, two-time major champion Angel Cabrera and Louis Oosthuizen also have committed to play. A fourth international competitor will be announced soon. The fundraiser targets health issues facing Native Americans. Begay, a Navajo and the only full-blooded American Indian to play on the PGA Tour, says hes raised more than $4 million in seven years. Subject :Once a career NHL agitator himself, Minnesota forward Matt Cooke can relate to what Patrick Kaleta i

Once a career NHL agitator himself, Minnesota forward Matt Cooke can relate to what Patrick Kaleta is going through this week and went so far as reach out to him after the Wilds game in Buffalo on Monday. Lawrence Taylor Jersey . "I told him, Ive been there, its not fun - Its hard," Cooke told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun on ESPN.com. "I laid it out there that if he wants to know what I did, Id gladly talk to him about it. He knows Pommer (former Sabre-turned-Wild forward Jason Pominville), so I told him `If you want to get hold of me, Im there to talk." Cooke, whos had his share of league discipline over a 15-year career, came back a changed player with the Pittsburgh Penguins after being suspended for the last 10 regular-season games and first round of the playoffs in 2010-11. And his advice for Kaleta is to try to do the same thing. "During my suspension, with either (Dan) Bylsma or (Tony) Granato, I probably watched about 30 or 40 hours of video; watching players that play a physical style," said Cooke. "The hours of video work I did seriously helped me," he added. "The work that I put in has helped me not only take the risky plays out but also become a more effective player. Ive got a way more active stick on the forecheck, and Im more aware of my surroundings which has helped me offensively." Kaleta was handed a 10-game suspension on Tuesday for an illegal check to the head of Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Jack Jackson, a decision that he, his agent and the NHL Players Association will appeal. Part of changing his game included dealing with adversity, as Cooke recalled an incident in the 2010-11 season when a player dove into the boards after he barely touched him. "My heart was racing," Cooke told LeBrun. "I thought I was getting suspended. But before I was even off the ice Brendan (Shanahan) had called (Penguins GM) Ray Shero to tell him he knew I didnt touch the guy. That re-assured me." And by Cookes own admission, hes still learning. "Its never going to be over for me, and I realize that, and Im fine with that," he said. "Right now I err on the side of caution. I still watch video to make re-assure that there are good times to go out and by physical. "Its just a read. If you dont change the way you visually see the game, then change is impossible." Case in point - Cooke leads the Wild in scoring with three goals and six points in seven games and has yet to pick up a penalty minute this season. "Theres a huge difference in the way I approach the game now," he explained. "The days of just going for the big hit, every time possible, is just not feasible. The way the game is played now, the speed of the game, and the way the kids are taught to play the game." Files from ESPN.com by TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun were used for this report.  Phil McConkey Jersey . In the opener of the World Group first-round series, world No. 18 Kei Nishikori defeated Peter Polansky of Thornhill, Ont. Eli Manning Jersey .Cameron sustained his third concussion in three seasons last week on a hit by Oakland safety Brandion Ross, who was fined $22,050 by the NFL for the helmet-to-helmet blow.It will take the last game of the regular season to determine what seed the Toronto Raptors will be for the playoffs. The Raptors have to get through the pesky New York Knicks Wednesday at Madison Square Garden and can lock up the third spot in the Eastern Conference with a win or a Chicago loss in Charlotte. Listen to the game live on TSN Radio 1050 at 8pm et/5pm pt. Toronto will fall to the No. 4 spot if it loses and the Bulls top the Bobcats. In the postseason for the first time since 2007-08, the Atlantic Division- champion Raptors set a franchise record for wins with Mondays 110-100 victory versus the Milwaukee Bucks at Air Canada Centre. Greivis Vasquez started in place of DeMar DeRozan and made five 3-pointers en route to 25 points, while Kyle Lowry added 24 points for Toronto, which posted its team-best 48th win. DeMar DeRozan, who was held out of Mondays win over Milwaukee for rest, will return to the lineup. The previous record of 47 wins was achieved twice in 2000-01 and 2006-07. "I always have been ready for any opportunity since I got here," Vasquez said. "Im all about winning and they gave me a chance to start, and I want to help the team win and have a presence in games." Jonas Valanciunas recorded 14 points and 13 rebounds as the Raptors reached the 100-point mark for a seventh straight game. DeMar DeRozan, who was held out of Mondays win over Milwaukee for rest, will return to the lineup. His 22.8 scoring average is the highest since former Raptor and current Miami center Chris Bosh averaged 22.7 ppg in 2008-09. DeRozan is posting 24.2 points in the last six games. The Raptors have won nine of their last 11 games and will try to work on their 22-18 road record at MSG. They have won four of the lastt five road contests. Doug Kotar Jersey. New York spoiled Brooklyns chances of locking up the No. 5 seed in the East with Tuesdays 109-98 victory over the Nets at Barclays Center. With All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony shut down for the rest of the season with a shoulder issue, rookie Tim Hardaway, Jr. posted a team-best 16 points. Amare Stoudemire, J.R. Smith and Shannon Brown scored 14 points apiece, while Cole Aldrich ended with 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Knicks, who missed out on the eighth seed in the East. The Knicks have won three in a row and six of the last eight games. "You enjoy it more when youre in (the playoff hunt), when youre fighting for something." Smith said of the win. Meanwhile, an MRI on Anthonys shoulder revealed a small tear in the labrum of his right shoulder. The injury will not require surgery and he will be evaluated in a month. This could be Anthonys last season with the Knicks and he is a pending free agent. He will miss the playoffs for the first time in his career and averaged 27.4 ppg this season. Anthony could opt out of his contract this summer and test free agency. The Knicks, of course, hope to make some changes with Phil Jackson as the new team president and that could mean the departure of head coach Mike Woodson. Stoudemire is expected to sit Wednesdays game for the Knicks, who have an 18-22 record at home and will not participate in the postseason for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign. Toronto is 2-1 against New York this season and won the first meeting at Madison Square Garden 95-83 on Dec. 27. These two Atlantic Division inhabitants have split the last 10 games. Lowry is averaging 24.0 points, 8.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds in three games against the Knicks this season. Subject :LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling apologized Sunday for racist comments capt

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling apologized Sunday for racist comments captured on tape, saying they were a "terrible mistake. Datone Jones Jersey ." "Im not a racist," Sterling told CNNs Anderson Cooper in excerpts posted from an interview taped Sunday and set to air Monday. "I made a terrible mistake. Im here to apologize." In his first public comments since being banned for life from the NBA, Sterling said years of good behaviour as an owner should count toward his future. "Im a good member who made a mistake," Sterling said. "Am I entitled to one mistake, am I after 35 years? I mean, I love my league, I love my partners. Am I entitled to one mistake? Its a terrible mistake, and Ill never do it again." The interview came nearly two weeks after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling, fined him $2.5 million and urged the other league owners to force him to sell the team. Sterling said he waited to make a public apology because he was "emotionally distraught." "The reason its hard for me, very hard for me, is that Im wrong," Sterling said. "I caused the problem. I dont know how to correct it." He later added, "If the owners feel I have another chance, then theyll give it to me." Sterlings comments came on the same day ABC News posted excerpts of an interview his estranged wife gave to Barbara Walters. Shelly Sterling said she would fight to keep her 50 per cent ownership stake of the team. "I will fight that decision," Shelly Sterling said. "To be honest with you, Im wondering if a wife of one of the owners, and theres 30 owners, did something like that, said those racial slurs, would they oust the husband? Or would they leave the husband in? "I dont know why I should be punished for what his actions were." NBA spokesman Mike Bass released a statement Sunday night in response to Shelly Sterlings comments. "Under the NBA constitution, if a controlling owners interest is terminated by a three-quarter vote, all other team owners interests are automatically terminated as well," Bass said. "It doesnt matter whether the owners are related as is the case here. These are the rules to which all NBA owners agreed to as a condition of owning their team." Shelly Sterlings attorney, Pierce ODonnell, responded to the NBAs statement. "We do not agree with the leagues self-serving interpretation of its constitution, its application to Shelly Sterling or its validity under these unique circumstances," ODonnell said. "We live in a nation of laws. California law and the United States Constitution trump any such interpretation." ABC posted initial excerpts of Shelly Sterlings interview and planned to air the rest of it Monday. Shelly Sterling also said she "eventually" will divorce her husband, and that she hadnt yet done so due to financial considerations. "For the last 20 years, Ive been seeing attorneys for a divorce," she said. "In fact, I have here -- I just filed -- I was going to file the petition. I signed the petition for a divorce. And it came to almost being filed. And then, my financial adviser and my attorney said to me, Not now." LeBron James said Sunday after the Miami Heat practiced for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Brooklyn Nets that NBA players believe nobody in the Sterling family should be able to own the Clippers if hes gone. "As players, we want whats right and we dont feel like no one in his family should be able to own the team," James said. Tramaine Brock Jersey . Catch the action live on TSN2 at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. The Wild lead the Northwest Division and look to get back into the win column after having a season-high seven-game winning streak cut short with Tuesdays 2-1 loss at Winnipeg in the finale of a five-game road trip (4-1-0). Everson Griffen Jersey . Catch all the action on TSN starting at  10:30pm et/7:30pm pt. Toronto won at Denver and Utah, but lost in Portland and Sacramento. The Kings loss was the most recent game for the Raptors.Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - So much for Atlanta being tested on its four-game road trip. Kyle Korver hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 24 points, as the Hawks completed the trek undefeated with a 107-99 win over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night. Al Horford posted 22 points and nine rebounds and Jeff Teague filled the stat sheet with 17 points, 11 assists, three steals and three blocks for the Hawks, who have won 12 straight. I felt like tonight we were a little tired ... but guys kept fighting, nobody made excuses and we just kept playing, Horford said. Atlanta, which routed the Raptors 110-89 on Friday night, won its four games on the trip by an average of 15.25 points. The Hawks have also won 12 consecutive contests away from home. The Hawks have won 26 of their last 28 games overall and are two games away from matching the longest winning streak in franchise history. The 1993-94 team won 14 in a row. Pau Gasol tallied 22 points and 15 rebounds, while Derrick Rose provided 23 points, 10 helpers and eight boards for Chicago, which has dropped five of its last seven games. Very frustrating, but got to get it together if we want to go far, Rose said. Aftter Nikola Mirotic sunk a pair of foul shots to stake the Bulls to a 21-16 advantage late in the first quarter, the Hawks went on a 15-6 run that bled into the second. Marcus Sherels Jersey. Mike Scott nailed a 3-pointer at the first quarter buzzer to jumpstart the surge and a Korver triple preceded a Paul Millsap layup to cap it and give Atlanta a 36-22 margin at the 7:30 mark of the second. The Hawks were up 48-39 at the break and 76-67 after three. Taj Gibsons dunk pulled Chicago within 76-69 early in the fourth, but a Korver four-point play increased the cushion to 80-69 and the Bulls never got within less than five the rest of the way. Rose drove in for a reverse to claw the Bulls within 93-88 with 4:25 to play, but Horford hit a jumper and two Millsap foul shots gave Atlanta a 97-88 spread with 3:29 to go. The Hawks cruised to the victory from there. Game Notes Atlantas 26-2 mark over its last 28 games is the best extended stretch in the NBA since the Miami Heat won 27 straight two seasons ago ... Chicago has lost four of its past five home games ... Horford was 11-of-14 from the floor, while Korver was 7-of-9 from beyond the arc. Subject :BUFFALO, N. Green Bay Packers Jerseys .Y. -- Dominik Hasek is not a goaltender anymore. He hasnt tak

BUFFALO, N. Green Bay Packers Jerseys .Y. -- Dominik Hasek is not a goaltender anymore. He hasnt taken his customary place between the posts since his last game on Feb. 27, 2011 for Spartak Moscow of the KHL. He has thought and talked about playing since, but never followed through. "My equipment is still in the same bag," he said. Even when the 49-year-old plays with friends once or twice a week, Hasek plays as a defenceman. Forty years as a goalie was enough. And its unlikely the man nicknamed "The Dominator" can capture the kind of performances that made him one of the best goaltenders in his era, alongside Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur. Hasek played his final NHL game five years ago, and then officially retired in 2012. Its taken time since he left the league for his true place in NHL history to come into focus. Six Vezina Trophies as the leagues best goaltender, two Hart Trophies as MVP, one Olympic gold medal, six first-team all-star selections and two Stanley Cups -- one as a starter -- dont even tell the whole story. Few goalies during the 1990s and 2000s could do what Hasek did to opponents. "He mentally and physically intimidated you," said St. Louis Blues coach Ken Hitchcock, who beat Hasek in the 1999 Cup final with the Stars. "I think there were games that you knew you were never going to score on him, and I think it was very discouraging at times. I think thats a great quality. Id never seen the guy quit on a puck, Id never seen the guy give up on anything. And thats hard to play against." Haseks .922 save percentage is the best of any goalie since the league started keeping track in 1982-83. His 2.02 goals-against average is the best in the modern era, slightly lower than Ken Dryden and Brodeur. Brodeur has many more shutouts, but when Hasek was on his game, he had the ability to almost will teams to win. "He makes a team believe," ex-Sabres and current Stars coach Lindy Ruff said in a phone interview. "You just start believing that with him in goal you can win any given night." Ruff recalled times when Hasek was so locked in that "we really only had to score one. And if we got two, it was almost guaranteed-win night." Hasek, who is being inducted into the Sabres hall of fame Saturday night and will be the first NHL player to have the number 39 retired next season, wanted victories more than trophies or honours. "I want to be remembered as a competitor who gave the teams always (the chance) to win the game," Hasek said Friday at First Niagara Center. "As a great goalie, as the person or goalie who gave the team (a chance) to always win the game. Thats what was hockey for me. I enjoyed my time, I enjoyed when I played here and any time I step on the ice my goal is to win the game and try to help my teammates win the game." Hasek will forever trail Brodeur (three Cups with the New Jersey Devils) and Roy (four, two each with the Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche), and one of his two in Detroit came as Chris Osgoods backup. But Hasek could potentially have won another title in 1999, had it not been for Brett Hulls controversial skate-in-the-crease overtime series winner in Game 6. A Cup there would have burnished Haseks legacy even more, but its not something that he laments 15 years later. "Its part of the life," he said. "Sometimes you win, sometimes you come close and you dont win it the whole way. It was an unfortunate night for us, it was something disappointing, but for me it wasnt end of my life." Far from it. In fact, Hasek teamed up with Hull to win the Cup in 2002 with the Red Wings, posting six shutouts along the way. "Winning a Stanley Cup anywhere, its hard," said Sabres coach Ted Nolan, who spoke with Hasek Friday for the first time since Nolan was fired in Buffalo in 1997. "Its hard and all the stars have to line up. They didnt quite line up here but he went and lined it up in Detroit pretty well." In 1999, Hasek had two shutouts and a playoff-best .939 save percentage in almost getting the Sabres their first championship in franchise history. Stars centre Joe Nieuwendyk won the Conn Smythe Trophy, but it easily couldve gone to Hasek even in a losing effort. "We were a huge underdog, obviously, going through the playoffs," Ruff said. "I thought that our team really fed off of Doms performance for the most part. He wouldve been able to take a team that wasnt supposed to get there and win it." Haseks dominant prime lasted six seasons, from 1993-94 through 1998-99, when he led the league in save percentage every single time and came away with five of his six career Vezinas. Asked about those years, Hasek smiled and brushed off the notion that it mightve been the best stretch any goalie has ever played. "I dont think about this that way," Hasek said. "I got a chance to prove, to become starting goalie and after that I had, I dont know, six, seven years, which we had great teams, we made it every year to the playoffs except one of nine years." Hasek proved much more than that, something that will more than likely be validated with induction to the Hockey Hall of Fame in November. "For me its a no-brainer," Ruff said. "I think he definitely stands as one of the best. He was on the cutting edge of the way a lot of goaltenders play. Always looking for a way to be better. He could take a team a long ways with the way he played." Hasek isnt carrying teams anymore, instead living back home in the Czech Republic and working "a little bit" in hockey and also in business. As much as hed appreciate it, making the Hall of Fame was never his goal, and thats not his focus even now. "There are new goals in life and always something new to prove. The hockey career is something what is behind me," Hasek said. "What great years, what fantastic things to do something what you enjoy, what you love to do, and be very well paid and be around the people who you love and spend great time with them. However its part of the life that every professional player has to retire some day, and you wake up and you enjoy your life different ways." Clay Matthews Jersey . Griffin scored 13 of his 31 points in the final 7:05 and Dudley got 11 of his 20 points in the third quarter, leading the defending Pacific Division champions to a 112-85 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night. "Dud is a shooter.BURNABY, B.C. -- Japan rugby coach Eddie Jones might want to bottle whatever he told his team at halftime on Saturday night. Down 25-9 at the break, Japan stormed out of the gate and outscored Canada 25-0 over the final 40 minutes to stun the hosts 34-25 in the first game of the Pacific Nations Cup tournament for both countries. Jones is back coaching after suffering a stroke in October, but that didnt stop him from letting loose on his players after a disappointing first half. "Ill tell you what, it wasnt good for my blood pressure," said the 54-year-old. "We thought we were fitter than them. We thought if we could just hang in there ... we were just like a boxer on the ropes hanging on there. And if you get a chance to throw a jab, you throw it, and thats what we were able to do. "It takes a bit of courage to do that, so Im really pleased with that from the boys." Japan ran ragged in the second half, busting through the line for a pair of tries that left Canadian head coach Kieran Crowley shaking his head. "We really played well in that first half. We put pressure on them, we scored a couple really good tries," he said. "Second half, we had a couple bad defensive errors from set plays, which you cant afford to do. They were pretty soft tries, really. "Japan just took it to us and they deserved to win with that second-half performance." Yoshikazu Fujita, Yu Tamura and Hendrik Tui had the tries for the visitors, who won their eighth straight overall, while Ayumu Goromaru kicked five penalties and added two converts. John Moonlight, Ciaran Hearn and Taylor Paris had the tries for Canada, while James Pritchard added two penalties and two converts. Japan started to claw its way back after halftime with a try in the 42nd minute as Fujita dove over the line, and after Goromaru missed the conversion, the score stood at 25-14. Goromaru then kicked his fourth penalty of the night in the 56th minute to make it 25-17 before Tamura broke through the Canadian midfield untouched in the 63rd, with Goromanus conversion cutting the deficit to just one. Clearly rattled, Canada could barely hold onto the ball and Tui completed the comeback by again busting through the line to make it 31-25 after Goromarus conversion. Goromaru added to his point total by booting another penalty on the last kick of the game for the 34-25 final. "We always knew wed have to cope with the physical onslaught of Canada at home for the first 40," said Jones. "If we wouldnt have given away that try away (before) halftime we would have been pretty happy, but 25-9 at halftime, youre battling to stay in the game." Despite watching his team get bossed around in the second half, Tyler Ardron -- a 22-year-old from Lakefield, Ont., who plays for Ospreys in Wales and captained Canada for the first time -- saw some positives. "Tons of things to work on still," said Ardron, who made just his 14th appearance for the national team. "But we executed a lot things that we wanted to and I think if you look at that first half, a lot of things went our way and in the second half a couple bounces maybe went their way. Morgan Burnett Jersey. " The six-team Pacific Nations Cup tournament also includes Samoa, Fiji, Tonga and the United States. Canada will play world No. 10 Scotland at Torontos BMO Field next Saturday before travelling to Sacramento, Calif., to face the U.S. on June 21 in another Pacific Nations Cup match. The tournament consists of two groups of three teams, with each country taking on the other two in its conference. The top teams from each meet in Novembers final. Before his teams dominating second half, the turning point appeared to come in the 34th minute when Japans Shota Horie was sent to the sin bin for a foul, leaving his team down a man. Pritchard made the ensuing penalty from close range and Canada opened the floodgates with two impressive tries to close out the half. Moonlight finished off a good move for a try in the 37th minute before Paris broke through the Japanese line moments later, with Pritchard converting both for a 25-9 lead. "(We) definitely didnt think it was over," said Ardron. "I think we felt that if we played our game over the next 40 minutes we would be comfortable, but that clearly wasnt the case. "Credit to Japan -- they came out and played their game and we didnt turn it around." Japan, ranked No. 12 in the world, has been a pain for 15th-ranked Canada over the last several years. The Japanese tied Canada at the last two Rugby World Cups, with the 23-23 draw in 2011 helping to push the Canadians to fourth in their pool to miss out on automatic qualification for the 2015 tournament. Japan then beat Canada 16-13 in last years Pacific Nations Cup, a result that handed the championship trophy to Fiji. Crowley said earlier in the week that a win over Japan on home soil would help propel his side up the International Rugby Boards rankings and his players started brightly in front of a partisan crowd at Swangard Stadium. Canada had sustained pressure early in the match, with Hearn going over the line for the opening try in the seventh minute, but Pritchard missed the conversion for a 5-0 lead. Goromaru got Japan on the board with a penalty kick in the 12th minute, and he connected again three minutes later to give his team a 6-5 advantage. Pritchard then added a penalty in the 18th minute to restore the Canadian lead at 8-6, but Goromaru kicked his third penalty of the half in the 29th to make it 9-8 Japan. "Rugbys on a bit of a high at the moment in Canada," said Crowley. "Weve just got to get some of these tight games across the line. Japan have had our number a little bit the last few times weve played them, which is unfortunate." Notes: Scotland beat the U.S. 24-6 on Saturday night in Houston. ... With NFL training camps underway, the league is abuzz with position battles, injury news and rookies making an immediate impact. Teez Tabor Jersey . Each day, TSN.ca provides the latest rumours, reports and speculation from around the NFL beat. Johnny Be Not So Good? Johnny Manziel may be behaving well off the field so far at Cleveland Browns training camp, but his performance on the field has reportedly been lacking. Jason Gibbs of ESPN Cleveland has been tracking Manziel over the first four day of camp and his numbers havent been too pretty. In seven-on-seven team drills, the controversial quarterback has completed just 42 of 85 passes (49.4 per cent), has been sacked twice and thrown three interceptions. Another three plays were aborted because of confusion. Manziel has completed one touchdown pass so far at camp. Brian Hoyer is still getting all the first-team reps, but head coach Mike Pettine said Thursday that Manziel will start to see some reps with the ones soon.  Downed Canuck The Baltimore Ravens lost one of their draft picks - a Canadian - for the season on Thursday. Head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that defensive lineman Brent Urban will be put on the injured reserve with a torn ACL. The fourth round pick out of Virginia suffered the injury Wednesday during practice when he got tangled up with fellow rookie lineman Timmy Jernigan. Urban is from Mississauga and is also a second round pick of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Take Some Time The Miami Dolphins appear to be taking no chances with their star wide receiver Mike Wallace. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Wallace will not practice until at least next week and will miss Miamis intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday with a hamstring injury. Wallace missed Wednesdays session and said his hamstring was "tight" earlier this week. Last season was his first with the Dolphins after spending the first four years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Miami is counting on the 27-year-old being a major part of their offence in 2014, so for them to be cautious should come as no surprise. Different Opinions New York Jets second-year player Dee Milliner said he was the best cornerback in the game over the weekend and hes gotten his share of criticism for it. Former Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff was on ESPN radio Wednesday and shared his opinion of Milliner. "Dee Milliner is a guy that, its just taking him a little while," Westhoff said to ESPN. "I was not very impressed with his rookie year. He made the mistake—and sometimes I think its the way a guy phrases an answer to a question—about being the best cornerback in the league, and he said that he was. Man, Im not sure hes the best cornerback up here in Cortland. And I might include the university." Impressive Showing Drew Brees may have a new top receiver to look for this season. The Times-Picayune in New Orleans is reporting second-year wideout Nick Toon has been one of the most impressive players at Saints camp so far. He has "consistently come up with catches on nearly every pass pattern during training camp through the first five days," according to the Times-Picayune. Toon only appeared in eight games during his rookie season last year, recording four receptions. Ricky Wagner Jersey . And though his comeback night didnt quite go to script, Bryant couldnt help reflecting on the work necessary to get back on that court -- and all the months of steady labour ahead to reclaim his game. Bryant had nine points and eight rebounds in his season debut, but Amir Johnson scored a career-high 32 points in the trade-depleted Toronto Raptors 106-94 victory over Los Angeles on Sunday night. Nevin Lawson Jersey . -- Claudio Bieler hadnt scored since early September, and not from the run of play since mid-July.ROME - With nearly half the stadium closed to fans as punishment for territorial chants, not much was missed in a 0-0 draw between second-place Roma and fifth-place Inter Milan in Serie A on Saturday. Both sides came closest to scoring in the first half, when Roma had a goal from Mattia Destro waved off for offside and Inters Rodrigo Palacio headed high. "A draw was a fair result. Neither squad had many chances," Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic said. The draw moved Roma provisionally within eight points of Juventus, which is heading toward its third consecutive title. Inter moved two points ahead of Hellas Verona in the race for the final Europa League spot. Roma had won eight straight at home — seven in Serie A and one in the Italian Cup. On Sunday, Juventus visits AC Milan, third-place Napoli plays at Livorno, and fourth-place Fioreentina hosts Lazio. Detroit Lions Jerseys. Roma was ordered to close the sections behind both goals, where the ultras sit, for anti-Naples chants during a cup match last month. Further insults heard against Sampdoria resulted in a third section being closed. Some 500 fans protested the ban outside the stadium by lighting fireworks and flares. Second-half substitute Pjanic nearly put Roma ahead in the 75th but his effort was denied with a tough save from Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic. "I could have done better but he made a good save," Pjanic said. On the ensuing corner, Pjanic rose above the defence for a header but missed the target. Replays could be used to ban Romas Daniele De Rossi for physical contact with Mauro Icardi during the first half and Inters Juan Jesus for contact with Alessio Romagnoli toward the end of the game. Whats better than putting together a signature win? How about back-to-back signature wins? The up-and-coming Carolina Panthers have a chance to do exactly that in front of a national television audience when they host Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on "Monday Night Football. Tyus Bowser Jersey ." The game can be seen live on TSN starting with Monday Night Countdown at 6:30 p.m et/3:30 p.m. pt. The Patriots, who had a bye in Week 10, will look to continue the offensive success they had a week earlier when New England scored 55 points and racked up 610 yards of total offense in a 55-31 drubbing of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brady threw for 432 yards and four touchdowns without an interception in that one, his 15th game with at least four touchdowns and no interceptions. The Pats -- not surprisingly -- are a perfect 15-0 in those contests. Three New England receivers eclipsed the 100-yard mark to help the Patriots (7-2) move to 5-0 at home this season. Rob Gronkowski garnered a career-high nine receptions for 143 yards and a touchdown, Aaron Dobson had two scores on a five-catch, 130-yard effort and Danny Amendola totaled 122 yards and a touchdown on four grabs. "It felt great out there," Gronkowski said. "It was important for us to play this way. Until now, we hadnt been clicking for all four quarters." Stevan Ridley added a pair of rushing touchdowns while compiling 115 yards on 26 carries. "Theres a lot of football left to be played," said New England head coach Bill Belichick. "We just need to focus on what were doing and who were playing and try to go out there and play better than weve played, try to improve and try to win. Were not looking at anybody but Carolina right now." The Panthers will be aiming for their sixth consecutive win behind a defense which has been one of the NFLs best, allowing 115 points, the second-fewest in the league coming into Week 11 behind only Kansas City (111). Carolina is the only team in the NFL to rank in the top five in total defense (second), rushing yards allowed (second) and passing yards allowed (tied for fourth). In their last encounter, the Panthers held San Francisco to nine points and 151 total net yards in a 10-9 victory. Entering that contest, the 49ers had averaged 34.8 points and 357.6 total net yards per game over their previous five contests. "Everybodys on the same page," said Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson, who ranks second in the NFC with 8 1/2 sacks. "When everybody is on the same page, buying into the scheme, youre going to end up being successful. Its all about being a team and playing as one." The Carolina defense held the 49ers to a paltry 2-for-13 conversion rate on third down and recorded six sacks. DeAngelo Williams touchdown run late in the first half was the only time either team found the end zone, and it helped the Panthers stay within a game of New Orleans in the NFC South race. "There were a lot of good things that went on in this game today," said Carolina head coach Ron Rivera. "The defense did step up and play really well and I thought some of the things we did offensively, especially when we had good field position, were really good." The Patriots have won three of their five all-time meetings with Carolina, including a thrilling 32-29 win in Super Bowl XXXVIII. WHAT TO WATCH FOR Brady really hadnt been himself this season until exploding against the Steelers, thanks in large part to the uncertainty at the skill positions. The fact that Gronkowski and Amendola are now healthy and Dobson seems to getting it has to be a scary thought for most opposing defenses. "They have a one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the game, a great coach, and now they are getting some players back. It is a tremendous challenge for our football team," Rivera said. "Tom Brady is a very cerebral guy, hes been around a while, he knows where hes going with the ball, hes smart, he understands defenses," linebacker Luke Kuechly added. "So weve just got to do a good job of playing our job, doing our responsibilities and make sure were in the right spot." The Panthers, of course, arent most defenses. Since taking over the middle linebacker position in Week 5 of the 2012 season, Kuechly, who earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his effort against San Francisco, has spearheaded an amazingly consistent group. The imposing front seven is allowing a measly 82.0 yards per game on the ground. "Theyre one of the best defenses in the league," Brady said. "We have to play really well. I think our execution has to be at its best." The Carolina offense isnt nearly as formidable save for dynamic quarterback Cam Newton, who has thrown 13 touchdowns and rushed for four more so far this season. Veteran receiver Steve Smith and tight end Greg Olsen have been Newtons favorite targets but neither will pop the top off a defense at this stage. Newton, though, seems to have realized that he can live to play another down so to speak and punting the football isnt the worst thing in the world with his defense. Taking care of the football is paramount and Newton has done so in recent weeks. "Hes playing very efficiently. He does a good job," Belichick said when asked about Newton. "Hes obviously a threat with the ball in his hands to run. He can make all the throws.: The Pats defense has been hampered by injuries, especially up the middle where defensive tackles Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly, along with linebacker Jerod Mayo have been lost to season-ending injuries. That said Belichick believes his team is ready for Newton because they have already faced a few other mobile QBs like Buffalos EJ Manuel and the Jets Geno Smith. "I think that a lot of the plays that Carolina runs weve seen from Buffalo and the Jets," Belichick said. "The fact that we have seen some of those plays, weve worked on the basic blocking schemes and how to fit on them, where everybody needs to be." OVERALL ANALYSIS Brady has a 13-4 career record on Monday nights and still enjoys the extra attention the stand-alone showcase provides. "Monday Night Football is always pretty cool, especially when you play a really good team on Monday Night Football," the three-time Super Bowl champ said. "Its a fun night." It wont be as much fun against this Carolina defense, however. Kuechly and Co. will do enough to slow down the Pats on the big stage to give the Panthers their sixth straight win. Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Panthers 20, Patriots 16 Bronson Kaufusi Jersey . With the Rangers already leading 2-0, Carey Price was taken down early in the second period of New Yorks 7-2 pounding of the Canadiens in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference final on Saturday afternoon. Ray Lewis Jersey .C. -- Marcus Paige and his North Carolina teammates have endured so many wild swings -- big wins, surprising losses, NCAA drama -- that no one can blame their Hall of Fame coach for wondering whats next.NEW YORK -- Finally, somebody stopped Kevin Durant: his coach. Not that Durant cared. The only streak he cares about is still intact. Durants 30-point run ended at 12 games when he scored 26 in just 30 minutes, but the Oklahoma City Thunder won their 10th in a row with a 120-95 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night. "Thats the most important streak," Durant said. Serge Ibaka made all 12 shots and added 25 points and nine rebounds for the Thunder, who were so good that Durant sat the entire fourth quarter, the only way to slow him down right now. Durant came out for good with 1:15 left in the third. Coach Scott Brooks didnt bother asking the NBAs leading scorer if he wanted to keep playing to extend the streak, saying he knew what the answer would be. "If he cared about the streak, he shouldve never missed the two shots. Thats on him. Cant blame it on me," Brooks said. Durant finished 10 of 12 from the field, though his scoring average during his sensational January dropped from 36.6 to 35.9. He had been streaking toward Tracy McGrady, who had the last longer streak when he scored 30 in 14 in a row in 2003. "The streak was good while it lasted, but thats the least of my concerns," Durant said. "Its easy for me to try to force it to keep the streak alive, but we needed this win because they beat us last time." Reggie Jackson and Thabo Sefolosha scored 14 for the Thunder, on their longest winning streak since a 12-game run early in the 2012-13 season. They dominated the final three quarters in their 112-95 victory at Miami and picked up right where they left off in this one before a sellout crowd of 17,732 that included former President Bill Clinton. They call this a landslide in his field. Oklahoma City shot 63.6 per cent (49 of 77), highest in the league this season, and outrebounded Brooklyn 41-17. The Nets rebound total was the lowest in NBA history. Shaun Livingston scored 16 points while drawing the impossible assignment of defending Durant for the Nets, who dropped their final two games to finish 10-3 in January. "I mean, man, hes shooting thee ball, its tough," Livingston said. Breshad Perriman Jersey. "Its one of those where youve got to tip your hat to him." Oklahoma City closed the first quarter with the final 13 points, eight from Ibaka and the rest from Durant, for a 30-16 lead. An 11-0 spurt in the second -- with just two points from Durant and Ibaka -- extended it to 45-24, and one more surge late in the period put it away. The Nets started the month by holding Durant to 24 points while rallying from 16 down in a 95-93 victory at Oklahoma City, but Brooklyn was never in this game. "I said it before the game. Everybody is talking about Durant scoring 30 points, but its the rest of the guys that are playing at a high level," Nets coach Jason Kidd said. "If you look at Ibaka, hes 12 for 12. So again, it goes back to what I said before the game, its just not all Durant. He has guys on his team that have stepped up and been playing at a high level." Durant had a jumper and 3-pointer around Jacksons three-point play to extend it to 28, and Durant made a turnaround jumper and another 3-pointer on consecutive possessions late in the half for a 61-30 cushion. Ibaka capped his perfect half with a follow dunk and Oklahoma City led 63-35 at the break. But Durant got only three shots in the second half, making two on alley-oops, before taking a seat for good to get a little extra rest before returning to his hometown Saturday to face Washington. The Nets played without versatile forward Andrei Kirilenko, who wouldve been one of their best hopes of defending Durant, because of strained right calf. Backup centre Andray Blatche left in the second half with a bruised left hip. Deron Williams had 14 points off the bench for the Nets and rookie Mason Plumlee scored 13. Kevin Garnett missed all four shots and was scoreless with one rebound in 12 minutes. NOTES: The Thunder have won six straight road games. ... The Nets visit Indiana on Saturday, facing both conference leaders in a 24-hour span. ... Marquis Teague, acquired from Chicago on Jan. 21, made his Nets debut in the fourth quarter and scored seven points.
