Subject :BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Cedric Portugal Jersey . -- Mark Calcavecchias 8-foot closing putt for birdie put h

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Cedric Portugal Jersey . -- Mark Calcavecchias 8-foot closing putt for birdie put him in a better mood and sole possession of the second-round lead in the Regions Tradition at Shoal Creek. Calcavecchia insisted that only the first benefit was meaningful. He shot his second straight 3-under 69 on Friday to reach 6 under and take a one-stroke lead over Jay Haas at the Champions Tour major. Haas had a 70 after they came in as part of a four-way tie in the major championship. Haas missed a 4-footer on No. 18 to give Calcavecchia a shot at the solo lead at the midway point. Calcavecchia said finishing with a birdie improves his mood, lead or no lead. "It really doesnt matter, other than the fact that Im happier that I made the putt on the last hole, made the 8-footer for birdie as opposed to missing it," said Calcavecchia, who is seeking his first Champions Tour win since the 2012 Montreal Championship. "Sixty-nine sounds better than 70, it always has. "It always feels good to birdie the last hole. Leading as opposed to being tied for the lead, that makes no difference whatsoever to me." It was the highest score for a 36-hole leader at the Tradition since J.C. Snead was 6 under at Desert Mountain in 1996. The 36-hole leader has only won one of the last nine majors on the 50-and-over tour, with the exception being Mark Wiebe last year in the Senior British Open. Calcavecchias main concern is a rib problem he aggravated late in Thursdays round, leading to upper back spasms. He said it began flaring up again after swings starting on No. 14 Friday. "Its like a delayed reaction, then it kind of goes away," he said. Kenny Perry and Olin Browne were 4 under. Perry had a 68, and Browne shot 71. Browne was part of the first-round logjam along with Chien Soon Lu, who shot a 77. Haas birdied the first four holes, and Calcavecchia had three birdies on the first six holes. "I didnt put myself into a lot of bad positions," Haas said. "Being 4 under after four was kind of a dream start and it kind of slowly got away from me. But I like my position. I feel pretty good about my situation going into the weekend." He bogeyed No. 5 after landing in the bunker and then three-putted No. 15 for another bogey. Haas followed that with a 35-footer for birdie on No. 16. Calcavecchia also had a bogey on the 15th hole after having a bad lie about 10 yards right of the green. He chipped it some 15 feet past the hole. Calcavecchia said he started his round knowing Haas had gotten off to a good start and that Tom Pernice Jr. -- who finished with a 70 and was four strokes back -- had also opened with four straight birdies. Beyond that, he said hes not a scoreboard watcher. "Theres no point in really looking at this stage," Calcavecchia said. "Youre just trying to play the course and make as many birdies as possible and pars. Still a long way to go. If it was a three-rounder like most of our regular tournaments, it would be a little different story maybe. But were only halfway done." Haas takes a different approach. "I look at scoreboards all the time," he said. "I like seeing my name up there and seeing whats going on and all that. Its such a long race and theres so much golf left to be played that Im not too concerned about one shot here and there. You hate to throw any shots away obviously, but Im still feeling pretty good about where I am." Perry had three birdies on the final nine holes and was already looking forward to Round 3. "Saturdays the rocking chair day as I call it, and Ive got to make my move on that day," said Perry, who also had two bogeys. "I need to shoot another one of these or a little better to get back into it for Sunday." Defending champion David Frost was five strokes back and two-time winner Tom Lehman was six away from the lead. Both had 71s. Fred Couples was 7 over after a 77. Fabio Coentrao Portugal Jersey . Last years runner-up, Sara Errani, also reached the last eight in straight sets. Flipkens converted all four of her break points against Meusburger, and the third-seeded Errani broke Karin Knapps serve five times to win their all-Italian match 6-4, 6-3. Joao Moutinho Portugal Jersey . -- Olympic medallist Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que.BROSSARD, Que. -- Those impatient for the Stanley Cup to return to Canada will have just one team to root for in the NHL playoffs -- the Montreal Canadiens. For the first time since 1973, only one Canadian team has qualified for the NHL post-season. The Canadiens will face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the opening round, with only home ice advantage to be decided in the final regular-season games on the weekend. Defenceman Josh Gorges said Friday he expects a lot of attention, but it will be no more pressure than what the team deals with every day of the season. "There may be more eyes within Canada watching our games," the Kelowna, B.C. native said. "In Canada, they have their loyalties to their local teams, but come playoff time, youve watched when Vancouver was in the Cup (final) a few years ago. "Calgary, Edmonton, the same thing. The whole country rallies around because they want to see a Stanley Cup come back to Canada. But I dont think it adds anything. Theres enough pressure just because of what were trying to accomplish." In 1973, the Canadiens were the lone Canadian playoff team and they won the Cup. They are also the last Canadian team to win a Cup in 1993. They are widely considered to be long shots to go more than a round or two this time, even though theyve had an excellent season, have Canadian Olympic gold medallist Carey Price in goal, and got a major boost at the trade deadline in scoring winger Thomas Vanek. Last season, four Canadian teams made the playoffs. Only two made it in the two seasons before that. It seems odd that clubs with such enthusiastic fans and which sell out every game have so much trouble finishing in the top eight in their conferences. But Gorges said the added attention may be what makes it so difficult. "Its a little bit strange, but at the same time, its not easy playing in Canadian markets," he said. "On a lot of teams in the States, theres nothing more to it than going out and playing the game and getting the two points, whereas a lot of times in Canada, you cant escape hockey. "No matter where you go, theres added, outside things that affect your performance. I think weve done a good job here of trying to find that balance, but that could, maybe, be a reason why some Canadian teams havent been in there." The Canadiens have reached the playoffs in six of the last seven seasons, missing in 2012. Their best season since 1993 was in 2010 when they reached the Eastern Conference final. The Vancouver Canucks saw a run of five straight trips to the post-season end this season. "Going into the season, you look at all the Canadian teams and youd think most of them would be contending," said Canadiens winger Brendan Gallagher. Joao Mario Jersey. "For us, being the only one, well probably have some of Canada on our side. "Some of them will still hate us, but it doesnt change what we do and how we have to prepare." The second-year forwards only playoff experience was in an all-Canadian series last spring, when Montreal was beaten in five games by the Ottawa Senators. "Theres so much expectation for Canadian teams to compete because the fans are so passionate and they care so much," said Gallagher, an Edmonton native. "Every fan base in Canada expects their team to be in the playoffs every year. "Im sure next year it will be different, but for us, it doesnt change anything. Were happy to be where we are and want to take advantage of it." While having only one team is rare, its an improvement on 1970, when no Canadian teams made it. Bobby Orrs Boston Bruins beat St. Louis in the final that year. The Canadiens, who are 0-for-20 on the power play in their last seven games, worked mostly on special teams going into their regular season finale Saturday night at home against the New York Rangers. The Canadiens hope a win coupled with a Tampa Bay loss will let them start the playoffs at home, but they dont seem to be sweating it one way or the other. "If its us or Tampa Bay that has home ice advantage, we dont know," said coach Michel Therrien. "But I can predict what the answers will be when we know on Sunday night: The team that has it will be really happy and the team that doesnt will say it doesnt matter." Forward Lars Eller didnt skate and it likely to miss a third game with a flu. Winger Brandon Prust is also out with an upper body injury. Therrien expects him to be ready for the playoffs but cautioned "were not quite sure yet." Forward Travis Moen, out eight games with a concussion, is also a question mark. Winger Michael Blunden was recalled from AHL Hamilton. The Canadiens announced that captain Brian Gionta edged out Gallagher for the Jacques Beauchamp Trophy as the teams unsung hero in voting by the local media. The two-way right winger has played 80 games this season after missing a large part of the last two campaigns with biceps injuries. "From the outside looking in, fans may not realize how important he is," Gorges said of Gionta. "Its not always about how many points you get, its what you do to help the team win games." 17:39ET 11-04-14 Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees have placed catcher Brian McCann on the seven-day concussion list less than a day after he was hit in the facemask by a foul ball. Green NFL Jerseys Outlet . McCann was hurt in the third inning Friday night against Cleveland but remained in the game until he was pinch hit for in the sixth. Manager Joe Girardi said McCann was feeling cloudy. McCann was examined by a neurologist Saturday morning and placed on the DL. He will have to pass Major League Baseballs concussion protocol before being activated. Austin Romine was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to fill in for McCann. The Yankees also gave second baseman Brian Roberts his unconditional release. Roberts was hitting .237 with five homers and 21 RBIs when he was cut on Aug. 1 to make room for infielder Stephen Drew. Buy Green NFL Jerseys . The biggest shock of this seasons competition was on when Watford took a 2-0 lead after 30 minutes at Etihad Stadium, only for a remarkable Aguero-led comeback by City in the final half-hour. The Argentina striker produced clinical finishes in the 60th and 79th minutes to level the score before Aleksandar Kolarov put City in front in the 87th. Womens Green NFL Jerseys . The NFLs Defensive Rookie of the Year will be named at the NFL Honours Award show on February 1. The 23-year-old 2013 second-rounder out of Oregon becomes the third Bills linebacker to win the honour after Jim Haslett (1979) and Shane Conlan (1987.OTTAWA – The start was to be a secret. Ron Wilson, then the head coach of the Maple Leafs, didnt want the "piranhas" in the Toronto media to catch wind of his plans for this young kid in the nations capital. He wanted the very first start in the unlikely career of a fourth round pick from Morweena, Manitoba to remain secret. "I dont want him to be bothered," Wilson said of his intentions two days later. "Around here a guy wins a game and were ready to build a statue for him." The statue was never built, but the tenure sure was memorable for James Reimer, whose Leaf career almost certainly ended Saturday in the same place it began in earnest more than three and a half years earlier. The 26-year-old wondered aloud if this was it, if a strong 36-save performance in a 1-0 season-ending loss to the Senators was how his tenure in Toronto would ultimately end. "Really sad," he said if that were, in fact, the case. "This is the team I always wanted to play for my whole career. Its just sad that now theres a question mark over it because I wouldve wanted it to be a sure thing for 20 years. "I always dreamed that I would be a Leaf right from the start, right from when I got drafted and especially after my first season up here. Its all I wanted to do is be here and be the guy. Just thinking that that might not be the case now it brings a lot of emotions and its just real unfortunate the way its turned out." He was an unlikely case from the get-go. The 99th overall selection in 2006, Reimer wasnt all that highly thought of, never really projected to be anything of consequence even as he rose up the ranks of an organization lacking in goaltending since Ed Belfours departure (Reimers childhood hero oddly enough). "I wouldnt have probably bet a plug nickel that he would be one of our goalies this year to be honest with you," Wilson said of Reimer during his rise to prominence in the 2010-11 campaign. A relative unknown, Reimer won 20 times in 36 starts that year and boasted an unexpected, but impressive .921 save percentage, reviving the playoff hopes of a squad that would eventually fall short. "I dont think he ever ceases to amaze us," former Leaf Luke Schenn said after one particular shutout in Minnesota. They called him "Sherman" or "The Sherminator" at first, because he bore a resemblance to the quirky character from the 1999 summer hit American Pie. He was from the smallest of towns in Manitoba, a religious kid who didnt have much use for vulgarity. "I try to watch my swear words around him," Joey Crabb, another former Leaf, once said. He was a feel good story in a hockey town that had little to feel good about. Excitement was high. The organization, it seemed, had solved a question long short on answers – almost by accident. He was dubbed the "saviour" by one local newspaper, hyperbole never quite kept in check in the hub of Toronto. "The media in Toronto is going to have to be careful," J.S. Giguere once cautioned. "I think hes also human and were all bound to make mistakes and have a tough week or a tough month – you never know whats ahead of us." Giguere unknowingly foreshadowed adversity that arrived with a thud shortly thereafter. The unquestioned No.1 for the Leafs at the outset of the 2011-12 season, Reimer picked up wins in four of his first five starts. Optimism was budding, that is until a late October night in Montreal. It was there that the elbow of Canadiens captain Brian Gionta slammed into Reimers head and instantly altered all that was trending in a positive direction. Wilson and the team called it "whip-lash" initially and figured hed miss only a few days. Concussion speculation pattered around the city as his absence dragged on, all that uncertainty culminating in a reporters phone call that unleashed all-out fury. "I cant believe a media [member] would call up a parent," Wilson spewed. Almost six weeks went by before Reimer returned to the net. And it was quite clear after that he was not the same goaltender. Save for a few bright spots, he struggled and it wasnt long before that rumours of a trade for then-Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo percolated. Those talks fell through though and he remained a Leaf. "We believe in James Reimer," said then-President and GM Brian Burke ahead of a September charity golf tournament, days before the lockout began. "We have said from the get-go that if we get an opportunity to upgrade at the goaltending position were going to do it. Thats still the case. But its not a frantic search for a goaltender. We believe in James Reimer." Health issues were put to bed in the summer – the concussion was later deemed a neck issue – and Reimer sought redemption. "I want to come in and show that I can be the starter and that they need to look nowhere else," he said in mid-July 2012. He indeed came in and shhowed that he could be the starter after the lockout finally ended, but that didnt stop the organizations search for someone else. Green NFL Jerseys Discount. Burke, chief in those summer talks for Luongo, had since been fired, but his replacement and longtime No. 2, Dave Nonis, felt the same uncertainty with Reimer as did his predecessor. This in spite of the fact that Reimer was playing about as well as anyone in the league – finishing amongst the leaders in save percentage. Miikka Kiprusoff was the name that was circled (and Luongo too) and the club pushed and pushed to get him from Calgary ahead of the trade deadline, this to help an unforeseen playoff push. They said they wanted security behind Reimer, some veteran comfort behind a goaltender who had never played in the postseason, but it was all too clear that they really just wanted a potential replacement. In the end Kiprusoff declined the move and trade talk was put to bed – for the moment. More doubt seemed to equal more motivation for Reimer. He went on to post a .930 save percentage in the month after the deadline kerfuffle, leading the club to its first playoff berth in nine years. "What he did is he proved to himself, he proved to the guys in the room and he proved to outsiders for whatever thats worth that he is an elite goalie in this league," then-backup Ben Scrivens said. "Hes had a fantastic season. In my opinion hes got to be in the running for the Vezina, with his record, with his numbers, with where he sits." Game 7 is all thats remembered from the May that followed. Forgotten were Games 5 and 6 when Reimer out-dueled Tuukka Rask and pushed the eventual Eastern Conference champs to the brink of elimination in the unlikely all-or-nothing clash that followed in Boston – one that the Leafs would lose despite a 4-1 third period lead. Doubts within about his viability returned after that night (or perhaps never left) and by late June, competition for the crease had arrived in Jonathan Bernier, a 25-year-old who dreamed of a No. 1 job for years in Los Angeles. "I dont plan on giving up that starters spot right now," Reimer said shortly after the trade, as diplomatic as his emotions would allow, "not to be a jerk about it obviously." But ultimately he would cede that starters spot, outclassed at last by Bernier in December. Pulled in the first frame of an eventual loss to Detroit that month, his bench stare-down with Randy Carlyle endured as a lasting image of his frustration. He saw the net only sparingly in the weeks and months after, his struggles mostly lingering save for the odd and very occasional spike. "Its been," he said delicately in late January, "its been an interesting year. Thats maybe the best way I can describe it." An interesting year came to a boiling point in mid-March with Bernier sidelined. It was there, with another (and perhaps final) meaningful opportunity, that Reimer could not overcome surrounding adversity and perform to a high level. Though left on an island on far too many occasions, he too struggled badly as the good vibes of a California road swing suddenly turned sour for the Leafs. After the second of eight consecutive losses in Detroit, all the lingering internal doubts seemed to come to head. "I thought he was okay you know," said Carlyle of Reimer following a 3-2 loss to the Red Wings, "just okay." "So he said I was just okay," Reimer responded. "I thought I played good, but obviously youd like to make at least one of those saves in the third." Confidence sunk, his struggles continued in three more losses – pulled in the opening frame of the fifth straight defeat in New Jersey after three goals slipped by on 10 shots. At his lowest, he tried to find some kind of silver lining afterward, anything to make the sting of some benefit down the road. "As crazy as it sounds I know Im becoming a better goalie and obviously a better person," he said in empty Prudential Center hallway. And then the circle of his Leaf journey concluded from where it all began in the season finale on Saturday. Reimer will almost certainly move on from here. A restricted free agent on July 1st, he is ready for a change, ready for a fresh start as much it probably pains him. He called this season one that was good for learning, a lesson in how to maintain an even-headedness through adversity. Asked how he would remember his tour in Toronto, one that began with a 32-save performance on that secretive January day, Reimer gushed, "Wonderful, just wonderful. "Im so blessed to be able to do what I do. And as hard as it gets at the end of the day youre playing hockey in the NHL. Obviously, I wouldve liked to be better and I have high expectations for myself and I expect to be the best and get results, but I love this game, I love what I do and to be able to do it for three and a half years now for the best organization in the world its been an absolute pleasure." PITTSBURGH – Brandon Morrows MRI results are in and theyre not good. Patty Mills Jersey . The 29-year-old felt something pop in his right index finger in the fifth inning of his Friday night start against the Pirates. He, and the Blue Jays, now know the cause: a torn tendon sheath. Hes been transferred to the 60-day disabled list. "If he heals up he should be back in July," said manager John Gibbons. "If its not healing up theyll have to do surgery and hell be done for the year, probably." The injury is the latest setback for Morrow in whats become a star-crossed career. After making 26 and 30 starts in 2010 and 2011, respectively, Morrow has been limited to only 37 appearances since the beginning of the 2012 season. In 2012, he began to show what the front office believes he could be, posting 10 wins, a 2.96 ERA and a 1.115 WHIP. An oblique strain cost Morrow more than two months that summer and while subsequent injuries, to his forearm and now his finger, were unrelated, it was a sign of things to come. The Blue Jays will select the contract of Marcus Stroman and hell be at PNC Park in time for Sundays series finale with the Pirates. Gibbons plans to begin with Stroman in the bullpen, although the 23-year-old acclimated well to his first taste of Triple-A baseball. Stroman is 2-2 with a 1.69 ERA, a 1.088 WHIP and 36 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings for the Buffalo Bisons this season. In his last start, Stroman struck out 10 and didnt allow a hit over six innings. At one point, he retired 16 consecutive Louisville Bats hitters. As for the starting rotation, Gibbons will send Dustin McGowan to the mound against the Pirates on Sunday. Left-hander J.A. Happ is scheduled to make his first start of the season on Monday in Philadelphia, followed by Drew Hutchison on Tuesday. Sending Morrow to the 60-day disabled list opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Stroman. The Blue Jays still need to clear space for Stroman on the 25-man active roster. A corresponding move will be made before Sundays game. Patty Mills Spurs Jersey . Cleary also had two assists and Patrick Eaves added two goals for the Red Wings, who also ousted Phoenix in seven games during the first round of the 2010 postseason. Todd Bertuzzi had a goal and an assist for Detroit, which got a goal apiece from Tomas Holmstrom and Niklas Kronwall and suffered no shortage of offense despite the absences of Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen. Clevelands Pro Bowl wide receiver, facing a possible NFL suspension for another failed drug test, was ticketed for speeding last weekend and a passenger in his car was cited for marijuana possession. Gordon was pulled over for driving 74 mph in a 60 mph zone on May 25, WKYC-TV reported Friday. According to the report, the passenger in Gordons Mercedes was issued a citation for possession of marijuana in an amount under 200 grams. The marijuana was found in a blue bag with identification. The passenger said the marijuana was not Gordons. Browns general manager Ray Farmer issued a statement regarding Gordons latest issue. "We are gathering information regarding the situation," Farmer said. "We will not have any further comment until the appropriate time." Gordons pending case is posted online on the Berea Municipal Court docket. It says Gordon showed proof of insurance when he was stoppped and that he did not have any warrants. Boris Diaw Spurs Jersey. He is due to appear in court on June 4. The traffic stop comes as the Browns are awaiting news whether Gordon will be available to play this season. The talented 23-year-old was suspended two games last season for failing a drug test and still led the league with 1,664 yards receiving. Earlier this month, ESPN reported that Gordon, who entered the league with a history of substance-abuse problems, failed another drug test, which could result in a one-year ban. Gordon has been practicing with the Browns as he awaits word from the league. Gordon has declined to comment at the workouts that have been open to the media the past two weeks. Last year, Gordon was convicted of two traffic offences after pleading no contest in court. He was ticketed twice for speeding, once for driving 98 mph. He paid $296 in fines and court costs. Former Browns coach Rob Chudzinski spoke to Gordon about his actions. Washington, DC (SportsNetwork. T. J. Logan Jersey .com) - The Washington Nationals made it official on Wednesday, announcing a seven-year contract for free-agent pitcher Max Scherzer. The deal is reportedly worth $210 million. Scherzer turned down a $160-million offer last year from the Tigers. The 30-year-old right-hander began his MLB career with the Diamondbacks organization after being a first-round draft pick in 2006. He broke into the majors in 2008 with Arizona and also played for the Diamondbacks in 2009 before being dealt to Detroit. Scherzer won the 2013 AL Cy Young Award. That season he compiled a 21-3 mark with a 2.90 ERA. Last season, he went 18-5 with a 3.15 ERA. With the addition of Scherzer, assuming the Nationals dont deal away any of their top-line projected starters for 2015, Washington will field a rotation that will include Stephen Strasburg, Jordan Zimmermann, Gio Gonzalez and Doug Fister. The Nationals had the best ERA in baseball among starting staffs last year at 3.04. They are also coming off a season in which they won 96 games and finished first in the NL East. Over his career, Scherzer has posted a 91-50 record and a 3.58 ERA in 207 games (198 starts). Haason Reddick Cardinas Jersey . Subject :ATLANTA -- Pero Antic made the game-winning inbounds pass. Vince Biegel Packers Jersey . Al Horford

ATLANTA -- Pero Antic made the game-winning inbounds pass. Vince Biegel Packers Jersey . Al Horford said all he had to do was make the catch near the basket and then shoot a soft jumper. All in 1.8 seconds. Just like in practice. Horford matched his career high with 34 points, including a jumper as time expired in overtime, and the Atlanta Hawks recovered after blowing a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter to beat the Washington Wizards 101-99 on Friday night. "We work on that in practice," Horford said. "We had three options: Me, Paul (Millsap) or Kyle (Korver). I think they overplayed both of those guys. (Antic) gave me a great pass." With the game tied at 99, Antic threw the high pass over other players to Horford, who hit a short fallaway over Washingtons Trevor Booker as the buzzer sounded. A video review confirmed the shot beat the buzzer. "It was supposed to be a lob for a dunk," Horford said. "As soon as I got it, I shot it." Booker, who led Washington with 24 points and 14 rebounds, said he thought he could intercept the pass. "It hurts," Booker said. "I thought I could get the ball and it went over my head. NEW YORK -- Falling a game short of the NBA Finals last season, the clear goal for the Indiana Pacers is the No. Grey NFL Jerseys . 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and the home-court advantage that comes with it. Keep this up, and they will have the best record in the whole league. Paul George scored 24 points and the Pacers improved the NBAs only undefeated record and the best start in franchise history to 7-0 by beating the Brooklyn Nets 96-91 Saturday night. David West added 18 points and hit the clinching free throws for the Pacers, who won their first six games in 1970-71, when they played in the ABA. They have the longest winning streak to open an NBA season since both the Lakers and New Orleans were 8-0 in 2010-11, according to STATS. "I really dont get too caught up in the historical value of it, other than were ahead of the race," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "Were trying to get the 1 seed to put ourselves in the position come playoff time with the best chance to come out of the East." Roy Hibbert finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Lance Stephenson also scored 15 points. "We executed. Thats the maturity for this team," George said. "Years ago we would have lost that game. We would have lost this game tonight just on not making shots and not executing and getting guys in spots to be aggressive at. But were growing as a team. Were getting mature and were finding ways to win games." Deron Williams and Joe Johnson each had 17 points for the Nets, who fell to 2-4 and lost at home for the first time this season. Brook Lopez scored 16 and Paul Pierce had 15. "Were just learning to play together. We didnt have everybody healthy for training camp and were all coming together and trying to win a championship and it doesnt happen overnight," said Williams, who added 10 assists but had a costly late turnover and committed what he called a "stupid" foul on George Hills 3-point attempt down the stretch. "Were not panicking, we know its going to come together, were confident that we can overcome these little struggles and were going to stay together no matter whats happening on the outside." Brooklyn trailed by 10 midway through the fourth quarter, but got a 3-pointer from Pierce that bounced on the rim at least four times in a spurt that cut it to 94-91, and they got the ball back after George threw away a pass with 20 seconds left. But Johnson was just long on a 3-point attempt with about 11 seconds to go and West grabbed the rebound and hit both free throws after being fouled. Vogel said the Pacers have made winning the East their priority after they lost Game 7 of the East finals on the road in Miami. The quick start has them well on their way. "Were just going out, playing the game," George said. "We feel very prepped for the game. Everybody is dialed in. Were not worried about keeping the streak alive, were just worried about going out there and playing our hardest and winning a ballgame." Indiana beat Chicago and Brooklyn, two of the top teams in the East, this week. The Pacers brought back their starting five and improved their bench, realizing that gives them an early advantage over teams like the Bulls and Nets that made changes since last season. "Cant take nothing away from Indiana. Theyre a pretty good team right now and were still a team thats kind of learning on the fly in game-time situations," Johnson said. The Pacers opened an early nine-point lead that the Nets wiped away thanks to a strong performance by their reserves. Brooklyn already had nine players score midway through the second quarter and took a 46-44 lead into halftime after Lopezs jumper with 11 seconds left. Indiana, which has trailed at halftime in six of its seven games, then outscored Brooklyn 28-21 in the third quarter. The Nets were without reserve Andrei Kirilenko, who has battled back spasms this season and woke up hurting Saturday. NOTES: Pacers president Larry Bird was in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, where Indiana State unveiled a statue in his likeness before its season-opening game. Bird led the Sycamores to the 1979 NCAA championship game. ... Indiana snapped a four-game losing streak against the Nets. Youth NFL Jerseys . Of course that doesnt mean hes ignoring it. Although Olivetti, a qualifier, had 13 aces, he failed to force a single break-point chance on Gasquets serve and lost his own three times. LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers President Andy Roeser is taking an indefinite leave of absence while the NBA restructures the franchise in the wake of owner Donald Sterlings lifetime ban. Nathan Peterman Bills Jersey . Roesers immediate departure was announced Tuesday by the NBA. The league announced plans last week to appoint a CEO to oversee the franchise in Sterlings absence. "This will provide an opportunity for a new CEO to begin on a clean slate and for the team to stabilize under difficult circumstances," NBA spokesman Mike Bass said. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling for life, fined him $2.5 million and urged owners to force him to sell the Clippers a week ago, responding to league-wide outrage over racist comments made by the 80-year-old real-estate mogul. Sterling is the NBAs longest-tenured owner after buying the Clippers in 1981. Roeser, one of the Clippers alternate governors, is one of the leagues longest-tenured executives, having just completed his 30th season with the team. Roeser has been a loyal frontman for Sterling since the franchises days in San Diego, and he stood by Sterling during every controversial stretch of the owners career. Only radio and television play-by-play announcer Ralph Lawler has worked for the Clippers longer than the 54-year-old Roeser, who became team president in 2007. But Roeser infuriated many longtime Clippers employees last week after Sterlings private conversation was made public by TMZ. While nearly everyone else was reacting with outrage, Roeser released a statement questioning whether the recordings of Sterling were legitimate, while simultaneously apologizing on Sterlings behalf for sentiments about Magic Johnson on the recordings. Roesers statement was sympathetic to Sterling and criticized V. Stiviano, Sterlings longtime associate and the other voice on the recordings. Clippers coach Doc Rivers said Roesers statement upset many loyal Clippers employees who had been horrified by Sterlings comments. Rivers held meetings with much of the Clippers front-office staff last week while Sterling was ousted, encouraging them to keep working for the franchise. Roeser joined the organization in 1984 from an accounting firm. Two years later, he became executive vice-president, overseeing all facets of the teams business operations. He has been president of the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation since it began in 1994. He helped bring Rivers to Los Angeles from the Boston Celtics last June, and was part of the acquisition of All-Star guard Chris Paul in 2011. Roeser also oversaw the development and construction of the teams training facility that opened in 2008. Rivers is the Clippers senior vice-president of basketball operations, working alongside executive vice-president of player personnel Gary Sacks on the basketball side of the teams operations. The Clippers overcame the distraction of Sterlings banishment to outlast Golden State in a seven-game first-round series on Saturday night. After just one day off, they returned to the court and trounced Oklahoma City 122-105 on the road Monday night in the opener of their Western Conference semifinal series. Nathan Peterman Womens Jersey . Signs of a turnaround have emerged in this series at Minnesota. Brian Roberts had three doubles and a triple for the first four-extra-base-hit game of his 14-year career, and the Yankees used their bullpen to preserve a 6-5 win over the Twins on Friday. Nathan Peterman Youth Jersey . Seager had another triple, a home run and a double in a rare feat not seen in more than 40 years, leading Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners past the New York Yankees 10-2. "It was a weird play," Seager said of the triple in the fourth inning.Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Dan Williams is active for the teams NFC wild-card game Saturday against the Carolina Panthers.Williams had been listed as questionable with a foot injury.Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton was ruled out earlier in the week with a knee injury. Subject :The Atlanta Braves try to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole on Friday when they play Game 2 of the Nati

The Atlanta Braves try to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole on Friday when they play Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Turner Field. Adidas Jonathan Ericsson Jersey . It wont be easy, though, as the Braves face righty Zack Greinke, who was 15-4 this season and pitched to a 1.58 ERA in 12 starts since July 30. Greinke also won 12 of his final 14 decisions and was 7-0 with a 1.95 ERA over his last 10 starts on the road. "You feel good when Zack is pitching," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "If we can put some runs up for him and make some plays, were going to be in a position to at least be in a close game that youve got a chance to win." Greinke, who went 1-1 with a 6.48 ERA in three postseason starts with Milwaukee in 2011, tossed seven scoreless innings to beat the Braves in his only appearance against them this season, but is 0-1 with a 5.73 ERA in two starts at Turner Field. "Theyve got a bunch of power, and you kind of have to locate your pitches," said Greinke about the Braves. "So I think those are the two main things. If you dont locate them, they could do some damage." Clayton Kershaw pitched Los Angeles to an early lead in this best-of-five set on Thursday, as he put forth a Cy Young-worthy effort with a 12-strikeout performance, and behind an early offensive outburst, the Dodgers were able to steal home field advantage with a 6-1 victory in Game 1. The Dodgers plated five runs over their first four turns at the plate to provide more than enough support for Kershaw (1-0), who cut down the Atlanta hitters one after another in scattering just a run on three hits over a dominant seven-inning stint. The NL-West Champions totaled 11 hits, with nine of them coming off Kris Medlen (0-1). The Braves starter lasted just four-plus innings and was charged with five runs -- including a two-run homer to Adrian Gonzalez in the third inning that all but silenced the home crowd for the remainder of the evening. Yasiel Puig had two hits, as did Mark Ellis and A.J. Ellis, who each scored a run and finished with an RBI. Skip Schumaker contributed a sacrifice fly in the first postseason win for Mattingly. "It feels good, obviously to put a win on the board really in a series, try to get that first game kind of under your belt as far as a team, not really worrying about myself so much," said Mattingly. "But feel good about putting a win on the board." The Braves, coming off their first NL East title since their run of 14 straight ended in 2005, struck out 15 times and managed just five hits in Game 1. Getting the call for Atlanta in Game 2 will be lefty Mike Minor, who was 0-4 in five September starts and allowed 18 earned runs over his final 39 innings. Overall, though, he was 13-9 with a 3.21 ERA. "I hate putting labels on guys, especially young guys," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "I think when youve got six, seven years in the big leagues and been successful, thats when I think we should put labels or say this guy is an ace or a No. 1, or youve won some hardware to back it up. But I think Mike Minor is a really, really good pitcher." In five starts versus the Dodgers Minor is 1-1 with a 2.32 ERA. Atlanta won five of its seven regular season matchups with the Dodgers this season. However, these teams havent met in the postseason since the Braves swept the NLDS back in 1996. Trailing 4-1 in the final set, Sharapova steadied her erratic service game and took command again to beat the 56th-ranked American 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 on clay at the Magic Box tennis centre. Subject :KANSAS CITY, Mo. Cheap Buffalo Sabres Jerseys . -- Chris Tillman paid no attention to the Baltimore

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Cheap Buffalo Sabres Jerseys . -- Chris Tillman paid no attention to the Baltimore bullpen as it started to stir in the ninth inning. After all, he had made it this far before. There was no way he was leaving the game now. So after a leadoff single to start the inning, Tillman bore down against the Kansas City Royals. The young right-hander induced three straight groundouts to end the game, wrapping up a 4-0 victory for the Orioles and giving Tillman his first career shutout. "Ill take more of them," he said, "but thats not my goal." Maybe not. But it sure is nice. Tillman came within two outs of a nine-inning complete game earlier this season, and he was incensed when he was pulled from an eventual 3-1 win over Detroit. He hadnt been any happier of late, either, after scuffling through his last five outings. But behind a dastardly combination of curveballs, changeups and fastballs, Tillman (4-2) kept the offensively inept Royals off balance. He scattered five hits and a walk, his dominant outing coming one night after Wei-Yin Chen and four relievers combined to beat Kansas City 2-1. Chris Davis homered and Steve Clevenger also drove in a run for the Orioles. "This is Tillmans night," the Royals Billy Butler said. "Youve got to give him credit. He did his job today. He was locating, throwing all of his pitches. He did a heck of a job." Jeremy Guthrie (2-3) bounced back from a lousy start to last eight innings against his former team. The Royals starter allowed four runs, eight hits and a walk while striking out two. While falling to 0-3 with four no-decisions in his last seven starts, Guthrie at least was able to save a bullpen that had been chewed up in that close loss the previous night. "He threw the ball well. He really did," Royals manager Ned Yost said. As for that offence, which has managed one run in the last two games? "Offences heat up, cool off," Yost said. "Right now we dont have anybody where I can sit back and say this boy is really swinging the bat well right now." The game was played in a brisk 2 hours, 22 minutes, mostly because the starters were so effective. Tillman retired 13 of 14 batters after giving up a double to Norichika Aoki to start the game, and Guthrie only allowed a single by J.J. Hardy over the first three innings. Baltimore finally got to Guthrie in the fourth, and it was partly his own doing. Manny Machado led off by bunting back toward Guthrie, and he slipped while trying to field the ball. His hurried throw to first was wide of the bag for an error, and Machado trotted over to second base. Moments later, he headed for third when Guthrie threw a wild pitch. Davis walked to put runners on the corners for Cruz, whose single drove in the games first run. Clevenger then grounded into a fielders choice to give the Orioles a 2-0 lead. It remained that way until the sixth, when consecutive singles again put runners on the corners. Cruz then lofted a fly ball deep enough to centre to bring home Adam Jones. Davis added his third homer of the season with two outs in the eighth. By that point, the only drama was whether Tillman would finish the game. The Orioles had two relievers up in the bullpen in the ninth, and the Royals got the leadoff man on base. But Tillman calmly got the next three batters to ground out to end the game. "We talked to him between innings, like we always do. It was a lot of effort but there was no real stressful innings for him," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "We had guys up and there was a point he was coming out of the game, but he was not going to be denied." NOTES: The Orioles recalled RHP Brad Brach from Triple-A Norfolk and designated RHP Evan Meek for assignment. ... The Royals selected the contract of RHP Casey Coleman from Triple-A Omaha and designated OF Justin Maxwell for assignment. Coleman retired the side in the ninth. ... ST. Cheap Pistons Jerseys Authentic . LOUIS -- Jack Clarks comments implying that Albert Pujols used steroids were too vague to do any real harm and a court should dismiss the lawsuit pitting the two former St. Louis Cardinals stars against each other, Clarks attorney said Tuesday. A motion filed Monday on behalf of Clark seeks dismissal of the defamation lawsuit filed by Pujols in October. The suit followed comments Clark made on his St. Louis radio show, "The King and the Ripper Show," in August. Among other things, Clark said he knew "for a fact" that Pujols was "a juicer." Pujols has vehemently denied using performance-enhancing drugs. Clark and his WGNU-AM show co-host Kevin Slaten were fired within days of the comments, and the stations owner broadcast a lengthy apology and posted similarly contrite statements on its website. The lawsuit names Clark but does not name the radio station or Slaten. Clarks attorney, Albert Watkins, said Clarks on-air comments were too vague to cause real harm to Pujols. "You call someone a juicer, in fact, there are multiple definitions of juicer," Watkins said. "It could mean illegal performance enhancing drugs, legal performance enhancing drugs. "Simply saying that my client asserted that Mr. Pujols was a juicer, under the law that governs defamation actions, is not enough," Watkins said. Pujols attorney, Martin Singer of Los Angeles, did not return a phone message seeking comment. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages that would be donated to charity and asks for a determination and declaration that Clarks statements are false. Pujols now plays for the Los Angeles Angels but maintains a home in St. Louis County. Clark also lives in the St. Louis area. The lawsuit said Pujols "character and reputation are impeccable and beyond reproach" and cites his charitable work with the Pujols Family Foundation. The suit calls calling Clark "a struggling radio talk show host" who was chasing ratings in the first week his new show was on the air when the comments were made. Pujols, a nine-time All-Star, played for the Cardinals from 2001-11, before signing a 10-year, $240 million deal with the Angels. Clark played for the Cardinals from 1985-87 and was a four-time All-Star. Cheap Pistons Jerseys China . Chris Johnson singled with two outs off left-hander Jerry Blevins (1-1), and Schafer pinch ran. With a 2-2 count, Schafer ran on the pitch and Upton dropped a single in front of Bryce Harper. Schafer already was rounding third when Schafer bobbled the ball. Cheap Detroit Pistons Jerseys . The Toronto Maple Leafs were holding a news conference, so they got curious. It didnt take long for them to find out via social media that coach Randy Carlyle was coming back — with a two-year extension — and assistants Greg Cronin, Scott Gordon and Dave Farrish were being let go.Clarity is a wonderful thing. When your mind is clear and you understand expectations it is amazing what can be accomplished on an individual basis and as it relates to football, collectively. And as the 2014 CFL season is about to start it is up to the head coach to be demanding on his expectations and desires from his players. He demands not only that they be the best they can be but also dictates what is expected from them as personalities and players, never forgetting that as a head coach he is their boss and is always evaluating one thing every day...them. What are those demands? Well, some are obvious and logical but until articulated perhaps not put as a priority. But given my top 10 list of demands that if you have them, you are going to win no matter the absence of excessive talent, if you dont...I doubt it. 1. Realize the opportunityTime moves on at a disturbing rate, and before you know it you have become a veteran player and youth is no longer on your side. Realize that pro football is not a career, it is an experience and given that fact you must win now. Not because that is what you are paid to do, but more because pro football careers are shorter than any other in team sports. In many ways there is no tomorrow, just today. So as the season beings you must have a "win now" mentality because there is no tomorrow, only today and only this year. 2. Be dedicatedThe CFL regular season goes from the last week of June to November 30 this year. There is no reason that you can take that time frame and put football as a complete priority. Do not be the last to show and the first to go, quite the opposite, be the first to show, last to go and use the time to know you have improved. There is nothing more aggravating on a football team than apathy. If youre the last to show and first to go, it expresses apathy in loud clear volume. 3. Make football a study, not a jobI loved university life when at school at University of Arizona. Because everything was interesting, including football. And one of the reasons I excelled was that I looked at the meeting the same way as I looked at school, I studied. There is a magnificent mental element to football when you study the game. Watching video of yourself and opponent, perfecting plays and knowing not only your position but everyones position. Knowing philosophy of the game, history, mechanics, techniques and adjustments. Look at football as if you just enrolled at the University of Football and you must graduate. Make it a study and by doing so you make it interesting. 4. Work with people, not because of themIn any locker room you have a lot of people from a lot of different backgrounds that do not always have the same values. To think you will get along well with everybody is ridiculous. There will be personality conflicts and problems. But that does not mean it has to be a detriment. Quite the opposite, it can be an asset if youre the one that makes the effort to get along. It does not mean you change, it means you accept that not everyone is like you and there is nothing wrong with it. Great teams are great teams because they make an effort for the cause. You dont have to like the guy or even respect him. But you have to understand his success is your success so concentrate on success and not the person and his personality. Make the effort. 5. Stay off the streetsThere is a saying, "nothing good ever happens after midnight". Very true. It is one of those subjects that is awkward to talk about but so critical to success. No one has the right to tell you what to do with your free time but the consequences of being at the wrong place at the wrong time can be devastating. Fans of football and athletes in general do not respect seeing their stars, players out in a club at 2am intoxicated. It is a respect crusher and a conversation that never ends at the other persons place of employment. In many CFL cities players are recognized everywhere. Being 67" and on national TV I know what it is like and must stay aware at all times. Many in the public want to see you fail and the first and best place to do it is late in the club trying to impress. I have known a few, but very few, that can run the streets and run a successful career. Not just in football, but in any worthwhile occupation. 6. Keep your moneyThere may be nothing in sports more difficult to understand than the high number that dont have anything to show for it whenn it is all over. Cheap Pistons Jerseys. And when I say anything to show for it I mean cash. You want football players to play football because they love football. Its motivating. But to think some play because of the fame and money is true. And nothing is wrong with that, if that is how you are wired then that is the way you are. Still if you love the game and what the game can get you so be it. It sounds so cliché but if you have 80 per cent of what you earned when the season is over than in an abstract way it was a winning season. If when 2014 is over you lost 80 per cent of what you earned it was a losing season. Keep your money...it makes you feel good and if you feel good you will play good. 7. Stand up for your teammatesThere is a lot of intimidation that goes on that goes unnoticed and is very subtle. There is nothing better than when you are in your personal battle that is about to get out of hand when instead of a one-on-one it becomes a three-on-one with your advantage being the three. The best teams are the teams that know everyone will defend everyone. The worst are teams where its you and only you defending you. Football like all team sports has a "gang mentality" of creating confidence. You see it in hockey perfectly when a role player defends the different role player. Football teams have to have that too or they dont become teams, they become individuals on teams. Working with each other is important but defending each other makes ann even bigger difference. 8. Take video critique as serious as the gameThe day after every game players receive their grades and watch every play, and I mean every play. If youre winning and playing well it can be an enjoyable experience. But if you are losing and not playing well it can be agony. Film analysis, video analysis leaves clues. Clues of what is right, wrong and everything in between. The keys are the preparation for the game, the performance of the game, but the most important aspect is the evaluation of the game. So significant as the honest evaluation improves the next weeks preparation which improves the performance which leads back to the evaluation again. It is this game after game cycle that when mastered, guarantees improvement. It begins with evaluation of performance. If you take it as serious as the game you will excel at an exceptional rate. It is inevitable and logical - iff you dont you flat line or regress. It is that simple. 9.  Take the game and make the game personalI will be the first one to say football is just a game. There are so many other things in life that are so much more important it is staggering. Still, if you blow it up in your mind and trick or convince yourself that nothing is more important, you again are guaranteed enhanced success. Take your individual play personally, take winning and losing personally. When you do you tap into hidden resources that maybe you did not realize you even had. Pride is motivating. Being respected is exhilarating. The more you play with pride, the more you demand respect and the better you are. Taking the game personal means you care and is the exact opposite of apathy. Your grade after the game should be extremely important to you. Winning should be incredibly important to you. Blow it up in your mind. Benefits will follow quickly. 10. Earn your paychequeSome people think that it is their right to have a job. Other feel they need to earn the job and make it right. Either way we all want to get paid. A great feeling is the feeling that you earned your paycheque. Earned money feels good and satisfying. Often players forget that they are being paid to be at their best both on and off the field. Because the cheques can come frequent and fast you as a player forget you are a paid professional. It is an unusual statement and it is almost subconscious but this is a job now. Youre a pro and you must perform. College is over and anytime money is involved everything changes. Being a pro is being aware you now paid to play and although it is called a game it is no long the same game you used to play. Stay aware, earn your paycheque or someone will be very happy to earn it for you. From June to November, some will rise and some will fall. But given the memories and moments with money and a bit of fame, it is all worth it. And to stay focused on the goal of becoming a Grey Cup champion, a little sacrifice for the next six months is not much to ask for.
